Subject: A thought about Armor Lock and Drop Shield

If I haven't fired you yet, it's because I'm still firing your mom in bed.

I don't recall even a tenth as much whining about Bubble Shield in Halo 3. Why? Because you can still go inside and kill the person, but at the same time it presents a level of protection. In Reach, instead of making Drop Shield restore health and be destructible, make it not restore health but be invincible. Basically, just make it a bubble shield. And instead of Armor Lock being invincible, make it only have a certain amount of strength and it also restores health (but make it last longer).

AL would be about as strong as the DS is now, but it would have a buffed defense against things like vehicle rammings. What do you guys think of this?

Absolutely not. That works for the Bubble shield because it was a single use map pick up.

But you can still enter the bubble and kill them. With AL as it is, there's nothing you can do but wait.

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

But with your changes, you have an infinite use bubble shield that blocks everything but vehicles and entering the shield. That's worse than AL.

And your changes to AL make it seem to play worse too.

It's not worse than AL. You can't "enter" armor lock and finish them off. With the bubble shield, you can. And it wouldn't last forever, and you would still have to let it recharge.

The edited AL would still render you immobile, but a rocket or just concentrated gunfire would still break through. Maybe I just didn't explain the changes very clearly...

New AL: Can't move, lasts longer, can be broken with a couple grenades/rocket/gunfire

New DS: Doesn't restore health, is invincible. Can be moved through, including with vehicles. Maybe increased recharge time.

Boom basically said it, I don't see how you could need a further in depth explanation.

Did you read ANYTHING past Boom's post? I already elaborated on that. Wow, I can see why everyone thinks so lowly of this forum.

Why even bother, really?
I rage.

The only way to "fix" armor lock is to remove it completely.

Yes, all I read was you still not getting why your idea was dumb.

People think lowly of this forum because its filled with ignorant idiots like you.

Welcome to the internet. Joy dies here.

I don't know about the AL side of things, but if the cooldown on the drop shield was significantly longer than the bubble's actual duration, I could see it being more balanced. Would still be an issue if a whole team decided to use it together though. Wouldn't be bad for a map pick-up though..

Drop shield isn't as broken as armour lock, but have you been in an objective match where everyone picked it?

There is, sadly, a reason why it was thrown into a closet and forgotten.
