Driving Hogs is what I do.

A happy Ho to all,

It's good to see more people going for the new guy in the forums, and not avoiding the posts completely. These last very few comments have kept me trying for the top of the ladder. I'm just climbing the thorns on the rose at the moment.

This is just one more thing for Bungie (while they're still remotely alive) and 343i to wave away with their giant pixaly hands, but I still think they should take questions and ideas from the public into account. Recently, I've gotten quite sick of the fact that you can work away for quite some time, sacrificing bullets, health, and quite a few deaths just to take down the god awful player taking refuge in a tank or Banshee. Many a time have I spent three, very precious sniper bullets to take down the irritating, purple bat from hell, and then just have it destroyed by a rocket in the last second. Just using the ammo is annoying, but not even getting an Assist just makes me mad. It's the same with Scorpions, Revenants, Wraiths, and raging Hogs. I hate this so much, I've even come up with a solution to it. Any Halo player can tell you that damage to the vehicle gives a softened blow to you. I thought that this could be used in exactly the same way as normal assists, but slightly less strict. As in only half of the shields need to be taken away to be called an assist, perhaps. Or, a minimal amount of damage to the vehicle itself. It's just an idea, but say what you think about it below, and mention what you want for a topic next week.

Happy Haloing,
Fedezzer

Welcome to the internet. Joy dies here.

So tl;dr - want vehicle assists

Makes sense. Don't see why not. Maybe have a minimum amount of damage to earn the assist, and have it (the opportunity to get the medal) last for a certain duration? Although the damage is permanent in many cases, it wouldn't make sense to have every player shoot a tank, then have it drive around the whole game, then drive off a cliff and give every player an assist.

100% Australian.

3 sniper shots to a Banshee in succession do more than the 40% damage to shields/health required for an assist, so the rocket must have killed the Banshee after the ownership of the damage disappears. (i.e. So you don't receive an assist).

@WhackyGordon
That's what I meant, pretty much, about the minimal and maximum time+damage stuff.
