They said they started halo 3 right after halo 2, and they already got 2 playable levels.

What? Do you not plan on living for the next 446 years?

No, i definitely do... it just seems like a long time to wait, that's all.

No.
Damn.

On another note, I hadn't noticed that the Halo 3 Wiki had been updated... ofcourse I hadn't looked at it in about 6 months.

They scared me when they said that the look of it was a lot like Halo 2. Makes it sound like the graphics won't be much better....I have a dream of what it should look like......::dreams::

In a few updates (before its announcement) they mentioned its playability. It seems like they may have a good number of levels created but not assembled into a finished product. As indicated by the update that surfaced with the trailer they clearly are still working on the Halo 3 Graphics Engine, which may go through 2-3 major revisions before shipment (coding is tough on the new Xbox so they had to relearn their technique).

that which is not dead can eternal lie, but with strange aeons even death may die.

well considering that bungie is one of the fastest game developers I think it is very possible that halo 3 will be finished by early '07. just after the PS3 destroyes most of microsoft.

Note: (I dislike sony, but the ps3 is better than the xbox 360 in every way)
but im still buying a xbox 360 because I like the games it has to offer.

Didn't they say that they started making Halo 3 right after Halo 2 was released? If so, there must have been some other, even bigger supertrailer out there that I haven't seen, because I don't thing that it takes that long to make a two-and-a-half minute trailer.

You do realize they have to work on the game itself and not just trailers or demos, right?

Wrong. The Playstation 3 has been doing terrible lately and will continue to do so if Sony does not step it up.

Sony's stock, ever since E3 2006, has been declining. Whereas Nintendo's (and I imagine Microsoft's) has been flying. Investors just aren't impressed with the Playstation 3.

Specification-wise, the Xbox 360 surpasses the Playstation 3.

Fans have grown very upset with Sony announcing that the stripped-down Playstation 3 bundle will be missing key hardware features. Likewise, they are left wondering why the amazingly fake tech demos shown at last year's E3 were not playable on the show room floor this year. Fans are also growing upset (and even game developers, too) about the fact that Sony has been stealing Microsoft's (Online Service mimic) and Nintendo's (Motion sensor mimic) ideas. A speaker from Ubisoft commended the Wii and Xbox 360 for their innovative ideas and shunned the Playstation 3 for their doings.

So, no, the Playstation 3 is not better than the Xbox 360 in every way.

Specification-wise, the Xbox 360 surpasses the Playstation 3.

Although many would like to believe this, it cannot be further from the truth. I am not a PS advocate and want to express my disdain for the Playstation market.

Here are the specs:
Xbox 360:
3.2GHz PowerPC (3 physical cores, 3 logical)
512 MB GDDR3 RAM (Shared)
ATI GPU @ 500Mhz
1080i maximum res

Playstation 3:
3.2 PowerPC based cell processor (7 cores?)
[256MB XDR Main RAM @3.2GHz
256MB GDDR3 VRAM @700MHz]
GPU: RSX @550MHz
1080p maximum res

As you can see the Playstation 3 is a downright confusing hunk of plastic but it does surpass the Xbox 360. Its graphics are clocked higher, it has separate RAM banks (system and GPU), Has a crazy ass processor, and can play games at the crazy 1080p resolution (which is known to cause motion sickness). There are quite a few other specs that the PS3 has over the Xbox also. What I have heard is that game developers have had difficulty with coding for the PS3 because of its insanely complex design.

However, I will never buy a Sony Playstation. My brothers have a PS2 but it was given to them.

P.S. The Xbox 360 costs 400 USD while the PS3 costs 600 or 700 -blamin'- USD

He's right. The PS3 does have better specifications, albeit extremely complicated and much more difficult to make software for. Many smaller game designers have actually refused to be a part of the sony lineup, at least at the outset, because they aren't sure that they can put the time into creating a game for the PS3, and still be profitable. The 360 is much easier to create games for, and therefore we'll see a lot more of the smaller games, like we saw on PS2, come to the 360. Not to mention the outrageous pricetag, and the likely high price of the games, it's just not going to be a system that really takes of for a pretty good while.

wait wait wait wait wait...
Let's be honest. It will most likely be out late 2007. Probably in early Nov.. So that is like 18 months. So we're talking about over 90 weekly updates. 90 weeks of "What? Show me more!" NINETY-FRACKIN'-WEEKS. the next season of 24 will most likely be over before Halo 3 comes out!

Oh, god, the suffering... the pain...

And yeah, Opey could probably win that game without using his BR. Best SMG user in Halo.

They said they started making it after Halo 2. And Frankie in a Weekly Update said that he tried out a level that one of the guys made. He said it was awesome, and that it took place between the end of Halo 2 and before the trailer. [Forerunner ship?]

i think they said they took a month or two off in the spetial aditian DVD.

you left out that they are prety much going to use the same program so all they have to do is updat and upgrade it and that is mostly CG upgrades. sry for the spelling

"If you're not remembered, you never existed"

Halo: Reach>Halo: Combat Evolved>Halo 3> Halo 3: ODST>Halo 2

I think that a lot of the game is done. Game informer has never let us down with information before and according to them, there is a playable version of it. Also, by the end of 2006 it will have been 2 years since november 2004 (the release of halo 2) so i wouldn't be surprised if they came out with an early release. What they are going to do though, is they are going to be -blam!- about it and just hold it off as long as they can so that they can show a demo at the next e3 and then release it around christmas time (november or december). Thats what they did with halo 3 anyways.....at e3 in 2003 they had the trailer of MC jumping out of the station....they waited a year and then at next e3 they had a full level of gameplay to show and then it release in november. So that is whats going to happen. I wish it would come out in early 2007 though....that would kick ass. A lot of it.
