If you have to use labels like 'Retarded' to describe anyone who disagrees with you, Then your arguement has lost any weight it might of had, and I personally will assume you are just trying to get a rise out of people.

Also to those who think that having a high KDR means you're beast; just the fact that boosters exist is a prime reason that any thumbless noob can achieve it throwing the 'my high KDR validates my opinion" logic out the window.

Again, not my fault that it's the truth.

Show me a good player that thinks both those AAs are fine, and I'll shut up. Too bad there was a 13-page thread that failed to find one.
Not the point.

Point is; if you have to call people bad, dumb, retarded, or stupid to make a point, chances are no one will take what you have to say with a grain of salt.

That isn't how Jetpack is abused, that's how bad players think to use Jetpack.

There's a major difference.

The vast majority of the time, by your standards, jetpack isn't abused

Jetpack. Armour lock is a saviour from grenade spammers

Jetpack is easily countered.

Armor Lock.

Explain to me how you easily counter Jetpackers.

Shoot them out of the goddamn sky. They fly straight upward, basically making them a hovering target. It's not difficult to aim upward and pull the right trigger, is it?

Explain how it can be abused. Armor Lock, I can understand. It makes you unkillable. But moving straight upwards, sometimes diagonally? I don't follow.

RC Clone is the anti-thesis of a lurker.

That's like asking whether you enjoy getting raped in the ass or the mouth more.

A button which makes you invincible in game where the entire point is to kill eachother.

That's a -blam!- TERRIBLE idea. Whoever came up with that idea should be fired.

The 343 forums suck. They're full of retarded kids and mods who got butthurt in the B.net forums for being told that they're bad.

I have already given examples in this thread.

Here's one of the biggest problems in multiple maps, however: Flying to the roof and waiting there until your shields come back. Then, you have a nearly 100% safe place to stay for a while where barely anything outside of other jetpackers, and when you come down you have the advantages of height and first shot.

  • 02.26.2012 3:41 PM PDT

Armor lock, cause you can kill jetpack users a lot easier than AL noobies/trolls

  • 02.26.2012 3:43 PM PDT

I'm in love with Jesus and proud of it!

Jetpack is the reason I hate playing Powerhouse. The ONLY reason.

AL is why I hate TS.

So basically... Waypoint is pro-vanilla?

Posted by: Sentox6
Waypoint isn't pro-anything so much as they're just anti-intelligence.

Equally terrible, although Arena makes me want to say jetpack.

Digging Foxholes by Profession

Armor Lock. It's good at what it does, and that's letting you shove off incredible amounts of damage. Unfortunately, turning into an indestructible rock doesn't fit my playstyle. People who use it just to prolong their death, hoping one of their friends will come by and pick me up, is pretty lame. And in the event it doesn't work, they almost always die anyway, because I know how to not get killed.

I am, on the other hand, quite fond of Jetpack, and use it whenever possible. Quite simply, it allows me traverse the map and make flanking maneuvers that are otherwise impossible. People have a habit of not looking up or down, and when I can flank them vertically, I often have - quite literally - the upper hand. I'm also able to survive much better in grenades in close quarters (outside of hallways and tight rooms they're rarely even a threat to me) because of my ability to get up and away from the blast origin. I'll give some people with complaints about map control with jetpacks might be correct, but I like the aspect it adds. Too many people, however, complain about it because they are unable to adjust their skills to counter jetpacking opponents.

You are incorrect in that ending statement. Most people that dislike Jetpack know perfectly well how to fight both with and against other jetpackers. The problem is that they shouldn't have to.

The reasons you like Jetpack are the reasons that people don't like Jetpack but use it anyway: It breaks normal, planned map flow.

If you're following "normal, planned map flow", then you're probably not good at thinking outside the box.

Not that I'm condoning reaching areas you're not meant to or anything.

You ever do any of those trick jumps in Halo 2 and 3? I didn't really, because I got good as Halo 3's time was ending. But THAT was how you smartly moved around the map in unexpected ways.

This is different than flying anywhere you wanted. I hope you can tell me how.

If you can get someplace quickly, efficiently, without the other team realizing it or before they can react, kudos to you. I agree, those jumps were intelligent, but there's little difference. If you can use Jetpack to easily clear their cover and drop a grenade on them, congrats, you win.

I have to take back what I said before about getting out of the map; remember, Halo doesn't have "rules" beyond not hacking, modding, or anything like that; if somebody can, under their own power, escape the confines of the map and use it as cover, that's very clever of them.

  • 02.26.2012 4:08 PM PDT

I personally hate them both. However, I think AL can ruin all maps equally, while Jetpack is worse on some maps than it is others.

  • 02.26.2012 4:09 PM PDT

WAZAAM!!!
herp derp

You guys obviously need to understand that Jetpacks make the user exposed to everything, and that AL makes it so that you are immobile. I play againt jetpackers and armor lovkers almost every day I play, and dont understand why everyone freaks out over it. Yes it is annoying when you use your last rocket on a guy and he uses AL, but he still ends up dying. And jetpackers usually kill themselves or are sniped almost immediately. They are not as bad as you make them out to be, you just need to learn how to overcome it.

  • 02.26.2012 4:11 PM PDT

I'm about as slightly above average as you can get.

I'm bad. Did I pick the right one?

  • 02.26.2012 4:12 PM PDT

The problem with Jetpack is the maps it is available on. It has nothing to do with the ability itself. It was just put on maps it shouldn't be on.

Armor Lock is the one people seem to have a problem with the ability of itself.
