Subject: Stat-padding

And so God called Moses to come forth but he came fifth and was therefore disqualified.

I notice this term seems to be common among the forums these days. I am not entirely sure what it means, but it seems like people are whining about people getting more kills than them. Can anyone clarify?

I'm not really an Apple person (Bananas forever) but damn, that's kinda sad.

You do things where you can kill many enemies/ get something positive while also avoiding death.

i.e. Sniping on a big map, using the Banshee, playing BTB etc

Stat padding is going for kill after kill instead of scoring the objective and winning straight away.

So why is it a bad thing?

It's when you play say BTB and can win a game in 4-5 minutes but instead you spawn kill for 15 minutes only scoring one flag/bomb.

example - We could have scored easily and ended the game a lot quicker but we decided to get kills for 17 minutes instead.

Why would I want to win if I could go 38-0?

It seems logical.

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

Stat padding wouldn't be a problem if people actually had the sense to quit.

Exactly why people do it, the game gives you no incentive to win, it would get boring winning the game in 5 minutes going 8-2 when you can kill for 17 minutes and go 34-6.

If the system was better and matched up teams with teams more often instead of 8 randoms vs a full team this wouldn't happen as often as it does, but when you get a full team vs another full team every 1/15-20 games it's more fun to kill instead of be done quickly.

Welcome to the internet. Joy dies here.

Padding: abusing objective gametypes or abusing max party size (ie. 8 players in a party in grifball, half of which are AFK guests getting killed 100+ times per match)

Essentially farming kills via the easiest method you can manage to artificially inflate your k/d beyond your actual skill.

The probleam is, "stat-padding" seems to carry the same weight as "noob".

Nothings wrong with it, they can quit if they don't like it.

Always good to let them have the lead til the last minute or two so they don't quit

more

Wrong. That's boosting not padding. Padding is against randoms or other terrible parties.

Getting a team to help you pad is one way player try to hide being a noob.

Even that is being generous.

Anyone who claims the AR takes skill ought to shoot himself in the head. Preferably with the AR because they'll most likely miss with any other weapon.

This morning I am now against it and am going to start parties to find other parties and spawn trap them instead of torturing randoms.

Only if you're with a team and/or decent at this game.

They mean the same thing.
Boosting is padding without live targets.
HTO is padding on live targets in objective.
Spawn trapping in slayer isn't padding. That's following the rules.

It is regardless. The only difference is in some circumstances, you're the grunt.

I'm in love with Jesus and proud of it!

I know that people do it in Living Dead too. Killing zombies is way too easy, especially if you have decent aim.

No.
Boosting is boosting.
Spawn trapping is spawn trapping.
HTO is HTO.

Remember this.
