So, after recently watching "The Heretic" from Halo 2 and "The Return" on Waypoint, I was stumped.
The Prophet councilors in Halo 2 did not have a "Mantle": the large gold U shape behind their head. Only the Hierarchs (Truth, Regret and Mercy) did.
Then I watched The Return, where the Prophet of Conviction had a mantle and crown, almost identical to Truth. However, Conviction was certainly not a Hierarch; much reading and research has proven this.
So, then, what is the significance of this heavy mantle? Is it symbolic of rank or was in just a fault on ONE's part?
