CoD is terrible. It was a good series like Halo until Modern warfare 2. Modern Warfare 2 was the worst game I have ever played. All they ( Infinity Ward ) did to the game was add 10 more weapons and a couple of maps. But don't get me wrong, Modern warfare 1 was brilliant. But as I just said MW2 was MW1 with a couple of new additions. Now the treyarch games Are alright only cause of Zombies. MW3? Don't even bother.
If you want to compare Halo to another game series i'd do Battlefield as they are sort of similar.
But the main reason that Halo is successful is because it's unique. It's a futuristic version of the common FPS. But with more Space aliens! Plus -blam!- awesome vehicles.
No matter how many space FPS's you make for console. None will ever beat the original and personally the best of them all.
Halo.
Opinion noted. Based on how you like aliens and zombies, id say you are pretty biast. Therefor your judgment of CoD is probubly not gona be taken very seriously.
CoD is fun and successful b/c the level of realism it brings far and away surpases anything ever made. People arn't always looking for a completely brand new game every time a sequal comes out. Not everyone wants aliens to fight as well. Thats what YOU like and what the HALO fan base likes. Thats not what the rest of the world thinks or likes. A greater number of people like CoD over halo so it's pretty damn ignorant to say halo is better then CoD, for those who say anyone who thinks so is retarded, but ill leave that up to how you feel.
I for one love the storyline and i have enjoyed every CoD i have played and will continue to do so even if it stays the way it is.
PS: im well aware im deffending CoD on a halo forum so i expect a good deal of flak for this. If you're just gona respond with "you like cod so you're wrong/retarded", dont waste your time.
It's a little difficult to assume that CoD is a better game than Halo because more people play it. This logic is pretty much a joke at this point, and there are examples galore across the media world to prove it.
1) Let's keep it Halo ... Team Slayer and Living Dead are this game's most popular playlists. Do you think they are the best playlists?
2) Or lets talk about movies. 90% of women in the Western civilized world love Twilight ... does that mean they are good movies? (lol)
3) Have you heard what all the Radio stations are playing 5 times an hour lately? Does that mean it's good?
Here's why people play CoD. Because it's easy, and my 50+ y/o dad can do it. No, really, he does play. And when I go back home for dinner with the fam, my step-dad is playing it same console as my brother. And that's three people with the reflexes of a snail that go positive regularly in the game, but who can't do much more than fly around with jetpacks and spam FRGs in Firefight when they put in their Halo: Reach disc at my request; nevermind matchmaking vs other people (which is often a 2-17 disaster).
As a guest playing 17 miles from my TurtleBeach's, split screen on some garbage Samsung bull-blam!-, I've been able to pull a 15-5 in Blops Hardcore after having not played the game in 2 months, then head downstairs and smash three plates of chicken riggis with the same ease. Does that even sound remotely right to you? Should someone be able to do that, or is the game just that ridiculously easy?
I am average at THIS game but if I didn't play for several months I guarantee you I'd need to play for several nights before I could regularly land a headshot or put a grenade where I want it.
First id like to thank you for a mature and thought out response unlike most people on this forum.
I take a completely neutral stance on this subject to the best of my ability as i am a fan of both games. I mearly call it as i see it, and what i see is CoD beating halo by a decent margin.
I agree with you that halo takes a greater degree of dedication to master then CoD as this is odvious by your example and by MOST peoples experience. But that aswell doesnt make it "better" then CoD. Afterall why would it? I gata play it more to be better at it? Does that make sence either?
So, while i understand your point, to an extent, on the number of fans =/= a superior product, i ask you then what does decide this? To my understanding it's the level of acceptance from the general community that decides how good a product is. If this is not it then i would love to know what does.
