Video games stopped even being remotely about skill after the SNES. Recharging health, checkpoints, unlimited lives.
I'll take you back to Battletoads and TMNT and you'll beg to return to the cushy cake walk that is modern gaming. Actually, let's not call it modern gaming, let's call it interactive cut-scenes that occasionally require you to shoot at enemies to provide the illusion that you are using skill to get further in the game.

Of course though, I prefer the vanilla Reach shield system. It just made more sense to me.What..
Vanilla: 3 DMR shots + melee = one melee
TU: 3 DMR shots + melee = kill
The latter is superior. Adapt.
TU
Someone shot 3 times with a DMR and a person with one bit of health left who melee each other will both die. Also with headshot bleedthrough, someone with a little bit of shields and someone with no shields who shoot each other with a DMR will both die. Doesnt really seem that fair to me :/
That and it does little to alieviate double beatdowns. It's just another way Reach is slowly getting turned into Halo 3.5. I can adapt fine; after all the new shield system's exactly like the previous game, what's there to adapt to, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.
