I must go now, my planet needs me.

I always play team slayer on HR and I used to love it untill 343 introduced this moronic TU. I can tell I'm going to get hate for this but I really don't care.
My problem with it is that I get more assist than kills in almost every TU game I play because I seem to take down somebodys sheilds and then a team mate will just run up and take the shot because there now appears to be massive damage inconsistencies. I'll then find another person take down their sheilds then by killed by them running at me and hitting me because of this half-assed bleedthrough system.
Does anyone else agree?

Melee bleedthrough is -blam!-ed. I had a guy jump over a stickie, lose his shields, and we bashed at the same time and died. I was at full health.

You getting more assists has nothing to do with the TU if you're getting someones shields down and someone takes the kill that would have happened in vanilla as well.

If you're taking someone shields down and they start running at you and you can't shoot them one more time by the time they melee you than it's your fault you died and should have killed them.

People complain about bleed through but it's a lot better than having a sliver or shield left and a melee only takes down that sliver when it should kill them.

I like the TU and it's working out fine for me.

I suppose that's true but up close I can never get the DMR to hit anyone when it's blooming as much as it is.

TU is 85% bloom, default is 100%. I'm no math wiz but 85<100. Meaning TU has less bloom than default.

Next excuse plz.

Video games stopped even being remotely about skill after the SNES. Recharging health, checkpoints, unlimited lives.

I'll take you back to Battletoads and TMNT and you'll beg to return to the cushy cake walk that is modern gaming. Actually, let's not call it modern gaming, let's call it interactive cut-scenes that occasionally require you to shoot at enemies to provide the illusion that you are using skill to get further in the game.

Personally, I think the new bleedthrough system is kind of screwy and inconsistent from what I've seen. Of course though, I prefer the vanilla Reach shield system. It just made more sense to me. They're supposed to be protective shields, not an extension of the health bar.

Halo 2 > Halo 3 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo Reach > Halo CE

Based on campaigns.

Yeah I dont like bleedthrough either. In a way it can be just as unfair as double melee. A person with no shields and a person with some shields can both melee at the same time and die.

What..
Vanilla: 3 DMR shots + melee = one melee
TU: 3 DMR shots + melee = kill
The latter is superior. Adapt.

TU

Someone shot 3 times with a DMR and a person with one bit of health left who melee each other will both die. Also with headshot bleedthrough, someone with a little bit of shields and someone with no shields who shoot each other with a DMR will both die. Doesnt really seem that fair to me :/

It happens all the time with the Needle Rifle.

Rather have that than have my bullets completely neglected by melee, to the point where it is easier just to run up to the guy and double melee.

That and it does little to alieviate double beatdowns. It's just another way Reach is slowly getting turned into Halo 3.5. I can adapt fine; after all the new shield system's exactly like the previous game, what's there to adapt to, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

Pulling the "Halo 3.5" card I see.

By that logic, wouldn't that make Halo 2 "CE 2.0"?

Nope. SouthPole isn't a person. He's the avatar of the force of tryhards everywhere. He stalks the web looking for retards to set straight. He can not be stopped by mere bans or thread locks for he shall rise anew.

Yeah the bleedthough ruins it.

Leon > HUNK > Wesker > Ada > Jill > Claire > Chris

I wouldn't mind TU, it's the screwy bleedthrough. I die 9/10 times by melee in TU because of the bleedthrough. Sure having a sliver of shields left and meleeing is annyoing, but so is having 75% shields and losing health because of 1 melee. Nerf the melee damage so that it only bleedsthrough at 25% shields. Then both problems are fixed. The sliver is fixed, and so is double melee and sliver getting knocked out by a punch that should do health damage.
