Subject: If the Covies knew Halo was a weapon, whats with the Great journey?

Facts are the enemy of tru7h....

But why did the Prophet Truth fly away from Delta Halo when he knew Tartarus was going to activate the ring (or at least try to)? Why didn't he stay to go on the Great Journey?

Why indeed?

The general concensus is that Truth knows more about the 'Great Journey' than any of the other members of the Covenant.

Maybe he's planning to remake the galaxy in his own image....

Remeber, Halo 1 came outta the blue for everybody, Bungie may of not known this to be a top selling game, for all we know, this could of been a flop.
So when Halo 1 became huge, they had to develop a motive for the Covenant, thus those little things from Halo 1 just slipped by.
I mean Cortana was in the Halo's computer system for like 12 hours, you'd think she would of discovered that there was more then 1 Halo.
Also, another thing that slipped, in Halo 2, Cortana is basically dissin the Covenant over having such bad intel on Earth.
Yet, in Halo 1, your whole objective is to protect Cortana from the Covenant, if she fell into thier hands, they could discover where Earth was.
Just those things that slipped I suppose.

Somebody said something about Forerunners still being alive in the Ark, and somebody said that may of come out.
Well, let's look at the fact, only Humans can activate the Rings, the Ark is located on Earth most likely, and there is Humans on Earth.
I have a hunch that there were Forerunner's still in the Ark, and that the Ark had a special barrier that protected it from Halo's destructiveness.
They emerged, and realized there entire race was dead, and most likely the Flood.
So they probably gave up the ways of thier people, and decided to create a new life for themselves on Earth.
There's a theory

The Covenant never said it was a weapon. They said whoever controlled Halo controlled the fate of the Universe. Big difference. Keyes said it was a weapon.
