What are we really supposed to be discussing here? I mean I get what we are supposed to be discussing, but you didn't really put it out there in a thought provoking way.

And you wouldn't get banned for this kind of idea. Read the rules it might give you an idea of what you can't talk about on here.(not that i'd know, rules are for fools)

[EDIT] OT: Yes it should, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Yes, it was fun battling the flood. I enjoyed the campaign levels where you face them and they fit right in as well. I hope there will be flood in future Halo games.

Sometimes fighting the flood was a little repetitive but I still have nightmares from Cortana on Legendery. I think their original purpose was to give the chief a bit of variety in who he fought.

Flood are scary thats final.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

This thread makes no sense.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

The Flood has tremendous potential as an enemy.

Citizens of Me! The cruelty of the old Pharaoh is a thing of the past. Let a whole new wave of cruelty wash over this lazy land.

Hear the word of Pharaoh. Build unto me a statue of ridiculous proportion. One billion cubits in height......that I might be remembered for all eternity!

And be quick about it!

Halo 4 needs to have MOAR Flood.

  • 02.27.2012 7:55 PM PDT

Yes because it changes up the enemy. Personally, I would get bored of fighting elites, brutes, hunters, grunts, etc. after 3 level or so. That's why the Flood is there, to shake things up a bit, and how could you remove such a huge part of the Halo story and universe? It makes no sense.

  • 02.27.2012 7:58 PM PDT

The Flood is an essential enemy. They were very fun in CE.

  • 02.27.2012 7:58 PM PDT

whats under the bed can hurt you............

i think is a fun and at the same time scary enemy to have around

Yes. From a gameplay perspective, they were an interesting, scary, and sometimes difficult enemy.

  • 02.27.2012 8:44 PM PDT

Yes. I liked what Halo 3 did with tank and ranged forms. If they expand on that they will make the flood fun to fight everytime.

  • 02.27.2012 8:51 PM PDT

Personally I've had enough of the flood, save for maybe a gravemind or only one level of flood in future Halo's.

Hale CE was great to encounter the flood, Halo 2 was OK and I just found the flood in Halo 3 annoying and I never really repeated those levels where flood dominated.

The cut-scene with Arby & Chief and the flood arrive was cool and having them align with you to halt the Halo's was good. I just did not like the in mission gameplay, I find it tedious and boring.

Future Halo's I'd rather run and gun through covie factions, new forerunners, new enemies, older human factions returning etc.

The flood is the main structure of halo's story.
If not flood, halos story wouldnt be as such mysterious.

I'm pretty sure that's heresy, and that it conflicts with the "Code of Manliness" - page 792, section E subsection D paragraph 3.2. I suggest you relay that statement.

Though the red headed step child may not be liked, he is necessary and just as much a part of the family as every one else.

It's too late. Your regrettable and deliberate action out against Bungie, Halo, and all we stand for has already been recorded and will now be remembered. How do you feel?

The Flood is what made the Halo series better than the average sci fi game. They were that wild card, the unknown factor. Halo games without the involvement of the Flood are just half of what the potential could have been.

Flood added an interesting experience, but only when other factions were involved. The Library, Quarantine Zone, Cortana. All examples of horrific levels (or at least annoying).

  • 03.02.2012 4:41 AM PDT

Look at it this way:
The Flood is probably the most integral and important element within Halo.

If the Flood didn't show up/wasn't created, Forerunners wouldn't have build the Halos.
If the Flood didn't exist, Humanity would have been f-d big time during the UNSC-Covenant War.
If the Flood didn't exist, Forerunners wouldn't have build the Ark, Apex and Shield Worlds.
If Graveminds weren't around, Forerunners would have probably stood a better chance (as the Gravemind-Medicant Bias combo proved to be pretty damn tough).
If the Forerunners didn't "go extinct" due to their anti-Flood policy, the Covenant might not have even existed.

Basically every line within Halo can be traced back to the Flood. All of the conflicts, all of the iconic Forerunner technology, the Covenant, everything all goes back to the Flood.

They should be in the game. Even more so than the Covenant for instance.

If the Flood didn't exist, there wouldn't have been a UNSC-Covenant war considering the only reason the Covenant went to Human controlled worlds was for Forerunner artifacts, which wouldn't be there either because the Forerunners most likely wouldn't be extinct.
