No because its impossible. Its not like NOBODY can host the game. Then theres no host and no host no game. So its impossible.

A Guide to Networking, Matchmaking, and Host in Halo (HBO mirror)

Bungie Friends and Family invitee, and sender of "random emails" about networking.

Host advantage will always exist due to latency. And until we develop a way of communicating that is faster than light, latency will always exist in a noticable amount.

Sad but true... Halo 1 > Halo 2>>>Halo 3

I really hope they do. And the people saying It's not possible don't know what they are talking about. Have you ever heard of servers?

The only advantage to having host, in my opinion, is cheating. If Bungie takes away the ability to cheat (which we all know can be done) that would be the greatest factor for our community. But, intern, M$, will lose a large amount of money and subscribers. Notice that M$ has never answered a single question publicly about griefers - only that we should police our own community. But policing our own community has no effect before 1000 feedback entries.

If Bungie makes dedicated servers then it'll get rid of host advantages.

a random bungie player who is popped in and is set up as a spectator and ALWAYS gets host cuz he has a super bandwdhth thing could easily solve this issue. He can also watch fo potential cheaters. He cycles about, watching each character watching and recording their gameplay. At end of day, bungie staff watches all footage and bans anyone who is super jumping, modding, boostig etc. Delevelers are suspended for a month and constant quitters are suspended for a day.

It's impossible to get rid of host advantage. You can only get to the point where it doesn't matter anymore. (Super connections) No luck dude, sorry. At least, not yet.

Only way to fix would be servers and they would never have enough to support the halo community.

Bungie could implement a system, where if your host online, Then you automatically have a small handi-cap enabled for you. That way it will balance the normal players and the host, in theory of course.

Host will always be a matter, like it or not, whether or not you agree with me. As long as any game can be created and joined it has a host.

Dedicated servers pose the same threat. For one, they are expensive to put up and maintain, and for two, anyone who lives close to the the server will still have advantages over people further away, regardless of internet bandwidth. Ever played coagulation and tried sniping someone, and failing because he "apparently" is host, only to find out he isnt the host?

Happens All the time. Those who live closest to the host area will lag less.

You obviously have no clue what you're talking about. I could go on describing in detail how everything you said is flawed beyond reason, but it is much easier to say it's all wrong.
