I have stayed away from these forums since they were errected, more than likely a bad thing seeing how this game turned out.
But not one of you in these forums can say Halo doesnt offer an alternative form of gameplay, thats why we are here.
From Halo CE, 2 & 3 alot has changed, but in Reach its changed to much. For me, Halo was always about having your weapons and maps, learning all the little ways to gain the advantage. I feel like Reach has lost this, in facct I dont think it had it to begin with.
Ever since the beta I felt like the game was taking something from me, like all I has trained for a mastered had gone to waste. No longer was planting headshot after headshot a skill, everyone could do it with ease, you didnt need to plan the tradjectory of grenades, everything just felt off and way too random, even victory is bitter for me on Reach.
I can honestly say due to lagg and randomness, in my eyes there is no truely good or great players, anytime I play a game an go 30-3 theres always them games where I can barely scratch 10 kills, this for me just killed the game because it no longer came down to skill, it came down to connections, granted that I was playing alone all the time and that didnt help, but if I was ment to kill someone, knowing full well they should have died (3 melees? Half a AR clip and a grenade? Surviving rocket launcher splash damage? Surviving vehical kills?) I just felt like it was a waste of my time.
So now I have just reached Field Marshall, aftdr extended periods of not playing. And I do this as a tradition when when a Halo game nears its end, to play out of respect. But you know what, this game has been totally screwed, and I guess thats my point. I hope when H4 is released it will come back to skill, but I just cant help but think all these extra thing like perks, mods will ruin the game further...though I could be wrong. I just dont see how the game will be balanced, how are you ment to know what abilities these people will have when you go head to head? Surely this takes away the last remaining part of what made Halo..Halo?
Like I said I could be wrong and I hope I am, but piling more randomness into the game...how will it be any diffirent to Reach?
Suppose I can be thankful that power weapon drops will be pretty random, people weapon spawn camping killed it for me also, I know it was doable in H3 also, but with the basic weaponry being a bit crud, having power weapons just made you the boss of the match, and with teams located in the weapon spawn areas there was no way to gain access to them, they had already won, no matter how well you could handle yourself.
I know my Halo Reach stats SCREAM that I was -blam!-. But I know my own skill, and Reach was not good at representing that. Im really hoping H4 redeems itself, fine, keep your AAs, perks, mods whatever. But at least make gunplay the core focus of those head to head battles, not lagg, not AAs but how you shoot and what you shoot with.
Do not dissapoint me, I have waited to long
