Heh. Everyone I know on another forum has been using "baneing" as our own little in-joke for years. Then Strong Bad gave us Bannination.

I love watching idoits and morans misspell words. It carcks me up. ;)

That was hilarious. Thank you. You are now my hero. Hearing those losers complain makes getting cheated against so many times almost worth it... Cheating is just showing that you can't beat people without all your cheating ways. Oh, and don't even get me started on the constant spelling and grammatical errors. Classic.

Once again, I commend Bungie on making my life that much better.

What makes this thread so great is the fact that all the noobs that are asking for their accounts back seem to be between the ages of 13-17. All the older people, except for the guy who hired that lawyer or whatnot, seem to understand that they were caught, but have to lie about the circumstances. I thought the guy that said his box was stolen was the best, because "the stoler knew my zip code!" I fell right off my chair at that one. Keep up the good work bungie and thanks for making the game fun once again.

On a side not, standbying has been at an all time high, but the standbyers are now getting smarter. For instance, i was being standbyed the other day and after half my team quit and they got far enough ahead, they stopped standbying and allowed us to come back a bit. Now when bungie looks at the game, they see a team that beat another, without it looking like something happened. And the people that report it look like sore losers. I say from here on out, (and this is what i have been doing lately). i either kill myself multiple times to try and even it out, and when bungie looks at the game, they will see that i am not appart of this bull-blam!-. It also gives the other team a chance to get back in the game and try and not get cheated out of a game

Its about time that Bungie has taken serious measures to crack down on modding...
I remember about 3 weeks ago, as i was playing slayer on my other account, out of 12 games, there were 4 modders, 2 team-standbying parties, and 2 lone standbyers...
Althhough it sounds like the cheating situation has come to a halt, i hate to report to some of you that there are still cheaters out there, as stupid as they are...

I love the Waaaahmbulance. If anyone from Bungie reads this, let it be known that I whole heartedly applaud the way you guys and gals police Halo 2 matchmaking. I know it's not perfect, but we live in an imperfect world. I have been stuck playing against scum bags who mod, cheat, boost, stand by whatever. It is one of the worst things I have had to experience. I play online cause most players are decent and out to have fun and the competition is great. Considering that when I have run into these losers in Matchmaking, I have often considered NEVER playing Halo 2 again, it is a sound business move to ban these uneducated morons. Keep up the great work and I am super stoked for Halo 3!!!!!!!

Welcome to the magical world of the internet, were common sense goes to die.

That update should give us all hope that one day we can all play a game of CTF or Team Slayer without the fear of cheaters ruining the match with standbying, bridging, or other stuff that horrible.....Horrible STUFF!!!!!!

But until that day comes soldier on Bungie!

Wow. ROFLMFAO
This is better than another Halo 3 screenshot. So funny. I have actually (and unfortunately) played against bridgers, and sadly enough it's the same. All I hear is "Bridging isn't cheating. Everyone can do it." You should make a book of these. I would pay a lot to buy it.

I don't know about the rest of you, but something just doesn't sit right with me here. One thing i'm wondering is, what if someone were wrongfully banned? What if you included their email in one of these "waaaaahmbulance" updates? How do you think that would make them feel? I would consider putting more effort into investigating cheaters and modders to find out if they were, in fact, cheating or modding. The next best thing would be to answer borderline legitimate-sounding appeal emails (mind you, even non-cheaters sometimes can't spell) with a message saying that you'll look into it further. You really should consider this. I'll bet that about one eighth of banned users were wrongfully banned under this computerized system.

I'm pretty sure that Bungie does a good job of making sure that people who are not cheaters don't get banned. I have a friend who has some brilliant streches of Halo 2 wins and once was investigated by Bungie because he was getting complaints that he was cheating, after they investigated him they notified him that he was not cheating (the players complaining were just losers figuratively and losers in Halo 2) and he continues to play and dominate in Halo 2. If you don't cheat you wont get banned. Heck I've had players complain at the end of the game that I was cheating which is hilarious considering the way I play.

has anyone ever mabye considered the fact that some, probably not many but some of the people DID have their ccount stolen. For example... I was playing WOW and some dude yelled at me, threatening to get me banned because he thought I was the one who stole his account and gave away all his stuff, turns out, it was actually his neighbor who confesed. SO incoclusivness...hehe had too... I'm sorry BUNGIE but no, you are NOT always right!

I love playing Team Training and seeing all the symbols and other high levels. I love it even more when they quit after I Tea Bag them multiple times upon killing them. I also love the friend requests after saying "noob, you are garbage". Pretty soon I will no longer have the enjoyment of making fun of these kids. It's great that you guys are banning a lot more people. Maybe now I can find a legit game.

HA HAH, those cheaters got owned. Great Job Bungie, keep up the good work. I feel really sorry for the legit level 40s out there. My little level 27 and I don't have to worry about modders, cheats, and bridgers. I've even encountered those newbie modders whos parents were like:
"what do you want for christmas johnny?"
"some mods, cuz i suck at halo 2"
then they get those mods only to try and use em' and find out they still suck, but now they can fly and always get headshots hahaha, what noobs. after only two days of having xbox live i encountered such a group, haha level 13 modders TOO EASY XP

I cannot join my friend's party on Halo. I have tried everything I can think of from resetting my router and modem to reconfiguring my router. He has also done the same. Does anyone know why we can't join each other parties? send me a message on ll bob dole ll (or a friend request).

First off I'd like to say, great post Bungie. It was a good read and really helped me believe that there actually is something going on about the cheaters, good work. I just had one comment to make about the cheaters...

"

"IF I WERE THE KING OF THE INTERNETS…"

what you should do with circle boosters is reset their stats or something.. because you dont see anyone complaining about me circle boosting.. like since when are you perm banning boosters when there are bridgers and modders out there... i just think that say for instance a clan is boosting... if you reset their stats back to 1 think of how pissed off they'll be.. they'll definatly stop boosting then its just that simple if you ask me.. i only boosted up to a level i actually thought i deserved and was going to go in legit after that.. its really depressing when you put time and effort into a legit 45 then get cheated down just like that to a 41… i've worked hard for my level and i hope to hear back from you soon..

Boggles the mind… Once again, the judge does the sentencing, not the defendant. Also, you call your level legit but you admit to boosting to get it, smooth. Being able to boost up to level 45 doesn’t make it legit."

I don't think that is what he meant...Bungie. I think he meant he has gotten to a 45 legit, then he got cheated so much until he dropped to a 41. Then he got fed up with the cheating, and circle boosted BACK up to the 45 he deserved...
Now I know the response is still going to be the same that it is cheating and he should be banned, but this is one form of "cheating" that may need another look...

"But grim pronouncements aside, we thought that the vast majority of you, the legitimate, non-cheating, non-boosting players, would get a kick out of reading a sample of our post-banning plea mails. I've got to agree with Tacky, there is little worse than achieving a new level and be so proud of it, only to lose it by being cheated some crazy amount of times in a row. :(

you guys gotta do something more than jus banning from matchmaking, i want these freking cheaters banned from xboxlive forever. you guys gotta talk with the dudes at xboxlive and research all the accounts that are cheating, take the name of the cards covering the accounts and not allow them to make any other accounts. if you guys didnt notice, most cheaters make more than one account so the cheating never ends. sure you guys got all these lil cheaters, modders, and bridgers and wat not but theere are alot more experienced cheaters out there. im not trying to tell you guys how to do your jobs cus i respect you dudes for wat you do, but cheating is getting very old and i thought you guys wouldve gotten rid of the problem a long time ago. please im begging you guys to try your hardest to stop allllllllllllllllllllllllllllll cheating before halo 3 comes out, dont let a good game go wrong wen the game is messed up by cheating -blam!-s(and i know you guys cant help it if people cheat or not) but please try your best to make cheating in halo3 impossible....but remember, instead of banning from matchmaking, call up the dudes at xboxlive and BAN from the SOURCE, ban the cheaters CREDIT CARDS or else they'll jus make more accounts.
thanxs,

Im kinda of a noob to XBL (not halo though , I have been playing halo multiplayer for many years) and I would really appreciate some solid definitions of - modding, standbying secondary standbying, bridging and boosting.

Also the waaahmbulance was hilarious my favorite was "more thievery" man I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.

I think its great that Bungie is trying so hard to get the cheaters out of matchmaking, but by banning Bridgers. you only allow more people to get cheated.I know ALOT of people that simply Bridge to avoid being cheated.By banning Bridgers entirely, you strip away their only defense at having a Legit game.
All this time consumption and effort may be better directed at developing some type of neutral host servers.Yes, it does cost money, but come on-Halo 2 is running beyond two years strong and getting more popular every day with the recent MLG uprising.
I know for a fact that if people can no longer have a legit game on XBox Live, they will find another tunnelling program to utilize.
Bridging avoids Modders and Standbyers!
