Subject: Should u get banned when playing with friends only

You can't really introduce a new player to Halo Multiplayer by playing a 1v1 custom game.
It's called Campaign and Firefight, you know so they can get use to the game. Anyone who has never played an FPS should play those first, not MP.

Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

Ok, let me rephrase that.

You can't introduce someone to Halo Multiplayer by playing 1v1 customs, campaign or firefight.

Because Multiplayer is that that much a beast when compared to everything else in the game.

The only way to prepare yourself for what is in Multiplayer, is to actually play MULTIPLAYER!

GET IT!?

Anyone who has played an FPS can play Halo MP and could still get kills each game, anyone who has never played an FPS would likely NOT get kills for 5+ games. You're just going to get raped if you jump straight into MP and you've never played an FPS before.

Also about all these stories similar to the OP, the other person always seems to be like 6 years old. They shouldn't be playing this game in the first place.

So you're saying that someone who has never played that game before should go straight to Multiplayer even though they wont know what do and what buttons to press.

Right..

No.. jesus christ. I have to explain every bit of the way for you morons.

Learning the controls is a far cry different from learning how to play against other human players.

And your assuming just because someone has played an FPS in their life that automatically translates to kills against more experienced opponents? What?

Try looking outside your own little world and your ability to just get into the groove of the newest FPS game on the market.

There's a word for that...empathy.

You know, even with all the experience I have at FPS games, once in a while. I get those games where I can't get a single -blam!- kill. Typically, I quit from these matches.

But seeing as how, I as a long time FPS player, am able to be presented with a scenario of going without a single kill for a game.

I can easily see how someone less skilled can be presented it multiple times...in a row even.

Yeah, I think this E0S guy is just throwing his club around, looking for trouble. The first time coming out from his bridge in a while I guess.

Learning the controls is something that EVERYONE needs to do with new games that they are introduced to. Some people take longer than others. Campaign and Firefight will be able to give them that chance and possibly refine them to bend to their ideals.

Also, hint hint, it avoids the main account to get banned for having AFK guests, which is multiple 0 kill games. (See what I did there?)

Better believe it, because when you compare your logic to mine.

You've built your argument out of straws.
Mine was built with bricks.

I agree.

Basically happened to me, too. I remember standing on their heads, and they would spin around looking for me.

If you were playing with a full lobby in the first place, why even run Matchmaking? Why not 4v4 customs for the new player to get accustomed to the game?

Credits.

So, when you think about it.

You're punishing people over the most worthless aspect of Halo.

Something that has no bearing on anything.

Why do people typically choose matchmaking over customs?

Because you can't unlock barbie dress's when you're playing customs.

You're punishing players over a dress-up feature.... how -blam!- stupid is that?

It's not that you're banning them over getting 0 kills.. You're real motivation for it is because you think they are circumventing the "Grind" associated with unlocking fashion items. Which in reality, is even stupider than banning them for getting 0 kills.

A few bad apples spoil the bunch. People exploited, cheated, and AFK'd for their pointless Barbie doll.

Besides, if they're so pointless... why are you picking Matchmaking over Customs?

I'm not. and I wouldn't.... if it wasn't for the fact that it's kind of Hard to get a full multiplayer custom game going when your friends list doesn't support it.

I would never touch matchmaking if customs would allow me to actually get a decent game going without having to add a bunch of random people to my list to do so.

Because unlike you, I didn't even look twice at the barbie dress-up feature.

I looked at the playlists, the games the playlists were hosting...and said -blam!- THIS GAME!

But that was after that bald -blam!-, said they didn't have time to implement a proper custom matchmaking service. Which was about 2 weeks before retail release.

Explain to them that your daughter is playing, and that she is very new to the series.

There isn't any way to get lobbies going without adding people. :P

Nope. SouthPole isn't a person. He's the avatar of the force of tryhards everywhere. He stalks the web looking for retards to set straight. He can not be stopped by mere bans or thread locks for he shall rise anew.

Well, you clearly didnt say -blam!- this game, or else you wouldnt be posting in the forums either. But that's OK. We understand.

The games are fine, you just couldn't handle the adaptation to the new system in place. But that's besides the point.

And, once again, you're derailing the thread entirely E0S. Can we bring it back to the topic at hand?
