You don't become a mod, Bungie chooses specific people to become mods. From what I can tell, the people that become mods know much about Bungie and for all I know, Bungie may not be choosing any other mods at the moment. We need a mod in here to explain a little bit better. lol.

You pretty much nailed it, Necro. Bungie chooses mods from users they know and trust. And no, they're not currently looking for any moderators right now.

You explained it well yourself.

EDIT- I was a tad late in saying that.

I wouldn't say that. To earn their trust, just be nice. To be one of the top 7 people they trust... Now that is hard. To be a mod though, you need to not only have their trust, you have to have a history with them, so they know damn well that you won't go rampant with power. You need to have a history of making thoughtful posts (sign of intelligence and good taste), you need to be a rule follower (so you'll enforce them), and most of all, you need to be able to command flaming ninjas. They don't listen to just anybody you know.

Do you get anything (besides satisfaction) for being a mod? blah! I'd get sick of sifting through all the threads...

  • 09.21.2004 9:34 AM PDT

bah

You get power, the ability to exert your will over others, all the ladies, bragging rights, the ability to talk to Bungie a lot, ect...

We don't get anything. Basically they just tell us to do something and we do it. For example bungie made Yoozel clean up the webmasters closet last Friday. I haven't seen Yoozel since. :0

There have actually been something like 20 mods. Most of them either run away or just mysteriously disappear.

Maybe it's the fact that you're blind stosh? Oh wait, you can't read this...

One of the things I notice and love about bungie moderators, exspecially the ones who work for Bungie or are friends of seem to have some rather intertaining bickerings with each other, not only providing users with support but with entertaining exchanges.

Oh to be on the inside.

Yeah, that's one things that is definitely cool about the mods. They tend to joke around with people every now and again, which is actually pretty entertaining to watch in my opinion.... and of course, they interact in the forums as well, they don't just sit back and boss people around, which is rather cool.

Amen.

Although there is something to be said for plain old dictatorship, specially when you have a buncha loose jawed idiots running around. Its always fun to take their kneecaps out, or at least their dignity. Then we can all sit around and enjoy a good round of laughs at their expense.
