Yes, I am a very sore loser. Even if I'm playing a team game and we win, I still get mad if I wasn't the one getting the most (or even second most) kills, especially if I go negative.
I see. I'll see where this is going...
Although I'm no tryhard I feel I get overly competitive over something that just doesn't matter... a game.
Kind of contradicted yourself there, but no big deal.
What I do is ignore the score. That's not the point of the game. Going positive should be a priority but not your main priority. Remember: the point is if you're having fun while you play. I myself enjoy gunning down somebody while they run away. And I ignore the point that I gain from it. The idea is finding enjoyment in the process itself, not the result. (And I'm well aware I made that sound very much like something else. Sorry.)
If dominating is how you find fun with the game at hand, good, just try to enjoy it even when you're not doing so great. Compliment somebody if they kill you in a spectacular fashion. It'll take the edge off the fact that you just died, and make the game less serious. It isn't meant to be serious unless money is on the line. And for the love of god, be the better man. If they insult you or something after you've complimented them, ignore it or mute them.
I'm not the best player, and I played for the first time yesterday in almost a week, so I wasn't playing my best (my KD for yesterday's 25 games was 1.09... before that it was almost 1.6). Any suggestions for how to enjoy the game even if I'm not doing well?
Like I said, it's not about playing well. It's just about playing. It's a game; a way to pass the time for a few hours when you're bored, not try to be some ungodly superman at it.
If you find winning fun, great, you'll have even more fun when you win - but try to enjoy the game at hand just as much as the end result, eh?
(A little half-assed, but whatever...)
