Bungie is a developer
Activision is a publisher
One does not always have to do what the other says. If anything, it's Bungie who has Activision by the balls.
Unless you are bungie playing at being a 'publisher' and tell the developer of your only title that it cant/wont be released to PC & Android even though the game already runs on those platforms (yep, crimson steam[ing pile] pirates - if you didnt already guess)
People who make games having say on what platform they release on, despite it working on others? Le Gasp! Bungie must be out of their goddamn minds!
As for activision, yep agree.
And they have reason for concern - almost feel sorry for activision. When they gave bungie the cash as an advance on sales it did have strings attached ... but what good a private stock options if bungie have no product worth.
And what good is Activision when they deal a death touch to every series they touch? Tony Hawk? Guitar Hero? Kings Quest? Mech Warrior? Wolfenstien?
If I were Bungie, I'd be more worried about ending up on the chopping block like Gray Matter, Infocom, Luxoflux, Shaba Games, RedOctane, Sierra Entertainment, Underground Development, Budcat Creations,7 Studios, Bizarre Creations, Swordfish Studios, and Massive Entertainment. What do all these have in ccommon? They partnered with Activision, and now, no longer exist.
