I had an epiphany tonight. WEATHER. What could be more interesting, realistic, and strategically engaging than having to deal with changing weather conditions? It's never been done in an FPS before, and i don't know why. Imagine, though, that your playing with your buds. The moment the match starts, you have do be aware not only of what map your playing on, but if fog will obscure vision and enable shorter-range tactics, or if rain will decrease the acuraccy of weapons. There could be snow or sand storms, blindingly clear days where you could increase your air-to-ground adv. by flying with the sun behind you, and mud formed wich would decrease the traction of vehicles. I think that weather opens SOOOOO many possibilities. It's awsome! And imagine a game where your being PWNED by a wharthog making circles around your base, then all of a sudden you hear a crack of thunder, and your hopes are reborn anew! The wharthog will be "slip-and-slie" from then on in the mud! Meanwhile, the other guys are like "ocrieapitsrainingpoopoowecantsnipcampandriveourwarthoga roundtheirbaseanymore" and your liek "HA." It would make the gameplay dynamic on more levels.

Help a brother out. Click on the referral link, sign up for a fun game, log in once for the next couple of days, then you never have to think about it again!

And yes. I understand how pathetic that is, but nobody reads these things anyway... right?

It would be interesting to some extent, but after a bit it would just get annoying. I prefer to play a straight up FPS, not a Strategy game (which is what it would turn in to). It would also keep Halo 3 off the shelves for at least a couple more months trying to implement that kind of thing...

Chyeah! I think that would be badass. Good thinking.
But not like get dark when it does change tho... ya, sometimes it could get annoying, so why not have a weather on/off option. :D

I think it would have to be something you can turn off and on though because not everyone would like it

I understand. But to play any multiplyr fps hardcore you usually need strategy involved. Its about as annoying as the rocket launcher or the shottie can b in the wrong situation, though. though i can understand the need for an ON/OFF feature in custom and maybe no weather matchmaking, but it would keep the combat from ever getting stale, EVER.

Agreed. but wouldn't the lightning interfere with a banshee's flying? Getting struck by lightning? Imagine a hurricane or tornado on a map like Ascension.

Col Sanders 37- Would you like that original or extra crispy?

I hope you choke on my popcorn chicken!

Eat my crispy strips biotch!

I think it's a good idea... I could only imagine what it might look like on a 360 too! Might make multiplayer more laggy if there wasn't a way to turn it off.
