Sure, I will not lie, I am banned for having soft mods. I got them because I couldnt play fair anymore due to all the other modders. I know its my fault and that I got what I deserved. Im not complaining about that either, my question is: Do bans carry over to halo 3?? Will I still be banned on H3??

That's a stretch don't you think?

Since your gamertag has been permanently banned, I assume it would carry over to Halo 3. Pay the $50 and move on.

If so that will suck. I have a lot going on my account and was probably going to use this same one.

Yeah, like when you stay up til 2:00am playing Oblivion and get to sleep on the couch cause your wife is sound asleep and waking her would puncture the space time continuim.

Not that I know anyone like that.

Im sure it is a lesson and yeah I was done with halo 2 due to the modders and bridgers so I figured what the heck why not try it a few times? See what it is like to jump 50 ft in the air Even if I get banned from h2, who cares, im done with this game anyways. But to keep it continued to another game is just crap. I honestly think everyone does deserve a second chance. Maybe everyone else doesnt agree but thats my opinion.

I hope that Bungie will either ban known modders from playing Halo 3, OR at least carry over their Halo 2 modding records to Halo 3 to keep a closer watch on them. Maybe they could give the past modders a second chance, but ban them instantly for a minor offense like vulgarity feedback so they are forced to play like a good person, or get banned again! Bungie can't tell if modders will learn their lesson from being banned, like you have, so I have no doubt that they will have some way to prevent past modders from ruining their next big game.

You're lucky you just got your gamertag banned... My brother gave our Xbox to a friend, and didn't tell them to turn it on without the modchip on or we would be banned. They detected our modchip and apparently banned our Xbox by banning the harddrive and eeprom or something. We don't even have any Halo 2 mods on it, just Halo 1 stuff. So no matter if we get a new gamertag we will still be banned.

Or like when you drink too much and black out and then 9 month later discover you're a father. It's a lot like that. It's all fun and games, but if you don't play by 'the rules', you can find it a lot harder to have fun every again.

(my opinion)
I think if people go against the rules and have the need to cheat and get busted cheating, then they should live with the ban, no sooking, whinning, whinging, crying. They took the risk, they got busted. They spoil it for others and think they rule they nest by cheating, i think good on bungie. ****'em off i say.

I've only played LIVE Halo2 recently cause of the freebie E3 trial, and when i played Halo2 on LIVE for the first time ever, I did enjoy it but i'm a bit iffy on some of the people i played with.
I'm sure if they cheat in this, they'll cheat in anything (eg. Halo3). If they cant play a game as it was intended and follow the rules, then make them suffer.

I totally agree. I think that if you modded, cheated, bridged, or standbyed in Halo 2 and got banned for it, you need to stay banned. Alot of the people who were banned dont deserve a clean slate for them to start all over again.

The people who cheated once will cheat again, and yes it's nice to think that people will change, and be all great and wonderful once they realize the consiquences of their actions, but the simple fact is that most people aren't that smart.

They pushed their luck once, and they'll try it again.

I think they got their chance, and their warning. They were told: "You mod, you get banned". Those who continued to mod and cheat dont care.

So no. You shouldn't be given a second chance to cheat again when you f'ed up your first one with plenty of warning.

yeah absolutly, its not like Bungie is gonna give you a slap on your wrist then let you play again, you might do it again, you deserve being banned, and your lucky that they cant bann you from live alltogether.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.” – Psalms 46:1-3
