Before I begin I understand:

Bungie is no longer managing the Halo Universe. While our Halo-related forums and stats remain available, be advised that "official" answers and support about the Halo Universe (past, present, or future) are not.

I am only using some Halo elements as an example.

One thing in Forge I would have loved to have seen are what is called "Data Streaming Objects." The creator/owner of a map could assign maybe an interactive private group that they have created or any group. Or even maybe they could assign Bungie Webcams to a specific DSO.

They owner of the map could set the object to be as huge as they want to display the group or whatever they assign to it.

Plus, DSO could do the exact opposite. It could send video data back to a specific group here on Bungie.net where people in a group could actually see people battling it out.

My question to you guys is that would like to see something like this in Bungie's next project assuming if they make forge or whatever capable.

This might not be possible but it's an idea I am throwing out there.

Thoughts?

Кланяються мені!

So you are saying you would like a built in live stream feed, like the ones commonly used for community carnage games. And you would like to be able to interact with this object from a third party perspective.

If I am on spot please tell me. But I have a critique for you.

First the problem.
I believe to take control of in game objects would require real time update software.

Poking changes to live games. This is easily accomplished by developers who are making a game. It allows them to change a game while playing it. The problem is these tools require a DevKit and a unique XEX to run. This software is carefully safeguarded by MS on top of being horrendously expensive.

Second problem is the bandwidth. Just rendering videos is expensive. Real Time streaming and pinging changes into a game over the internet by thousands of players would cost a fortune, assuming Bungies servers even have the processing power capable of supporting that.

Cool idea, but very inpracticle.

It was once said that a million monkeys at a million keyboards could reproduce the works of shakespeare... Now thanks to the internet we know that this is not true

Bungie has dev kits and everything they need to do that, they have had that stuff for the past what? 6 or so years.

its impractical though. and presents security risks.
