Crazy fool... Why do you always have to jump?! One of these days you're gonna land on something as stubborn as you are! ...And I don't do bits and pieces...

Gamer Tag - Mjolnir Hero

I havent seen a thread about this, so I hope Im safe, Now, I know alot of people have been saying that BUNGIE said that they wont incorperate the books into the games... BUT, I have never seen any proof of them stating that,I would really like if someone would send me a link to prove that... if not, to my next point...

All three of the current books "The Fall of Reach" "The Flood" "First Strike" all came out before Halo 2, and alot of people are saying that Dr.Halsey wont be in the game because it would confuse players, well, maybe she will be. If you read the books, you would know that Cortana is practically a digital clone of Dr.Halsey. So in a way, Dr.H has been in the game all along, it would be easy to introduce her into the game, shes Cortana's creator, and the creator of the Spartan II's. I mean, Bungie needs to put into the game how MC, and the Spartan project started, cause if you havent read the books, you have no clue how the MC became to be... Another thing, is that in "First Strike" (remember this came out before Halo 2) they introduce Lord Hood, Fleet Admiral of the Cairo Station, he was just thrown into the game, no introduction, nothing... Another character, Tartarus, he was in "First Strike", toward the end of the book, him and the Prophet Truth have a little talk. They dont introduce Tartarus...he just this weird looking monkey thing we know nothing about at the beggining of H2, its like "whoa, what the hell is that?!" ... it kinda looks to me as if BUNGIE expected us to read the books and know who these characters are... so MAYBE, I really hope so, they will throw in Dr. Halsey and some of the other spartans, maybe even Ackerson's (Dr. H's rival) "secret project" labeled "SIII" will be brought into the game for a awesome twist... Cause from the looks of it, Ackerson seems like he wants to be in control. He doesnt like the Spartan II's, the Covenant, or being controled by higher authorities, maybe he'll turn his project loose against the Spartans, the UNSC, the Covenant, and the Flood, maybe he'll even use the flood somehow to his advantage, from clues in the books, he has been doing extensive research on the Halos...

To me, I mean, I love Multiplayer, but the story of Halo 1 and Halo 2..... would be nothing to me, without the books, the books have made the story alot more interesting and deep, without the books, it would seem so plan and boring... wow, there is just a bunch of rings, you get to fight aliens, Im a super soldier and I have no clue how he became this awesome badass, but he is... The books really add to it, and I think Bungie knows that... Im not saying Im right, but I really have a strong belief that Bungie is going to pull off some awesome crazy twists into Halo 3 by using elements from the books...

With the exception of a extensive second paragraph, I think this is a really good point. The halo story line isn't complete without reading the books. period.

Col Sanders 37- Would you like that original or extra crispy?

I hope you choke on my popcorn chicken!

Eat my crispy strips biotch!

I agree as well... Bungie has incorporated the books into the game a few times. And IMO they will for Halo 3...big time!

Yeah, I definately agree, I always wondered why the MC was a super soldier when I first started playing Halo, I was clueless until I read the books, the story goes so deep, and I think the books are what has kept me interested in Halo for so long... that and multiplayer of course!

Constant state of war, of one, with all.

You know this would be cool. Play the zero gee fighting in The Fall of Reach and see Reach glassed. Then you are warped to present day and Chief is making his way around Earth. Flashback sequences.
I wonder why they haven't made anymore novalizations of Halo 2 or any other stoires. Maybe I am speaking too soon. We shall see.

Right. If I hadn't originally found out about the books from my friends and on here then I would've never known and Halo really wouldn't have made any sense to me. And if you're just playing the game it doesn't really make much sense at all anyways.

I think Bungie does expect us to read the books to find out everything that ties in with the games. And possibly the closest game/movie/book connection history has seen.

Well, there is Halo Zero, but that only takes place DURING the events of Reach being taken over and doesn't leave much to the imagination beforehand or anything.

They are making another Halo book, its supposed to be out in October I believe, its called Halo: Ghosts of Coral and its written by Eric Nylund, author of "The Fall of Reach" and "First Strike" plus, there is also the Halo Graphic Novel that comes out in July... thats gonna be sweet!

that game is ok. i have read the books though and including the other spartans into the game allong with doctor halsey could make an excelent twist. i was actually waiting for that exact same thing to happen in halo 2 but it never happend. in order to wrap up the story completely, they really need to include that kind of stuff from the books. In a way i do believe that bungie expects you to read the books because it fills in so much info and the authors had to go directly to bungie for the information for the books so that the story intertwines with the games. i know i read that somewhere but i cant remember where. i believe it was on one of the books.

Well everything from the books is taken directly from the Halo bible.

And yes, the Halo Bible is FACT. Interviews with many key employees of Bungie have lead to the eventual question of if it exists and the answer has always been yes, even if the form of it has not been straightforward. As in if it's a physical book or not.

By the way, Gray Fox, there's an "Edit" button underneath all of your posts. Instead of posting 3 times in a row, use the "Edit" button.

And the Halo novels are considered cannon, so I don't see why they wouldn't be incorporated into the game (it just depends on how much...).

It's a side scroller with crappy graphics (duh), and is a fan made creation from France (I believe), don't trust it since it doesn't come from Bungie..
