Subject: Chapter ranks+blam=website malfunction?

I was recently playing around with a chapter i'm administrating, and just for fun though to use a word that's currently blocked. In case you were wondering, its -blam!-. Not that it helps.

So i thought 'what would happen if i made that a rank?' So i made it a rank, which strangely worked. I thought that it was weird that it would, so i tested it out on a new member. Suddenly, i got the 'pardon our hegemony' message, though it didn't explain the problem. This was around 4pm pacific time.

Now, just to get the same webpage up so i could link it, i find that you can in fact make such ranks. Beware of Bad Language and excuse anyone in the picture you may know, as it was done without their consent or to harm them in any way.

Just wondering if this is fine, allowed, normal, a system glitch, or something else entirely.

Of course, i had to save the picture as a bad word, so it gets blammed out...

Wow, thats weird.

Is Thunderbolts rank f.ckzr?

at the moment, yes. At first it wouldn't let me, but i just tried it and it worked, so i was curious what happened...did it spaz out on me at first then suddenly start working now?

Yeah, sometimes it does that for me working on gia. I change ranks and the general settings, and the server doesn't catch up for minutes. So i make some minor changes, and it says i have changed the background of the group. So whenever i click a link in the group to move around, it changes the background each time, alternating between two.

I guess it could be the same sort of thing going on here.

yeah, your probably right about that. Though i'm still wondering why it worked anyways.

Well I assume the -blam!- filter only checks on certain parts of the website (ie. forum body, sigs, group names, profile names, thread names, news posts.) Maybe Achronos didn't think about roles.

Then again, I'm probably completely wrong.

Well, its possible, though i know i wouldn't have thought about the roles as suspect for abuse. Of course, i haven't seen a group using such names before, though i figured i should bring it up since i was experimenting anyways.

Yeah the -blam- filter only works in the forum and news. However upon makeing a chapter/group you have virtually cliked on an agreement and any violation of that will result in group deletion. I belive this could count as such. PM Achronos for reporting such actions.

Yep. I reported this one also and got a reply back basically stating "Thanks, we are aware of it. If you get reported for this you are gone, but yeah, thanks for the report"

Or something to that effect. I didn't keep Disembodied Souls message.
