Wow. What a discussion. I think that in halo books movies, and other fiction, a woman Spartan would be cool. My arguments against pave have been told by countless other people in the last five pages, so I won't bother to repeat them.
Now, should a female Spartan be in Halo3? No. Not because women ar physically inferior to men, but because it would be boring and stupid. As we have learned from DOA4, male and female spartans wear the same suits. They use the same weapons. So you would be playing as master chief with a high voice after sitting through a boring reunion cutscene. The point of halo is to be the sole surviving supersoldier (hey! alliteration!). The arbiter changed this in halo 2, and i didnt like it because i really didn't get anything new, just a purple HUD. I mean come on, you still were fighting covenant! so anyways... would a female soldier bring anything to the table (besides a potentially annoying auto aim)? No. It would continue to ruin a theme in CE, the "sole survivor" feeling. And that is why there shouldn't be a female spartan in Halo 3.
