Real life? What is that?
Graphics are good, gameplay sucks. Overhyped IMO.

Hey,

I originally posed this question to Deej in the Male Sack (4.0). As Deejilicious said, I agree that videogames now fill a larger space in the mainstream social world (read as: videogames are consuming our childhoods whole, with reckless abandon.. Rant for another time) then they once did, but will they ever be society changing? It's still not safe to go back in the water, 37 years after [i[Jaws[/i]. Science has shown that after leaving the theater-showing of The Exorcist, viewers immune systems were compromised (citation needed - if someone could find me a link that would be swell). Film History is a very common class, and a necessity for many degrees. Will videogames ever reach this level? Will Videogame History ever be a required course? Will it have the sex-appeal of Film History? Will Call of Generic, or Battlefield Similar be idolized in such hypothetical classes? Perhaps not. But Knights of the Old Republic, or the Halo series? Destiny? Perhaps. What do you think? Me? I hope so, it would be nice to feel like I didn't spend my childhood flushing my time down the drain. I was simply a videogame buff, ladies. I think I'm addicted to BB code.

Phil (because lengthy posts deserve real names, yeah!)

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

In order for such classes to develop, video games would need to induce a long term, evolving cultural impact. The foundation is there, and many people will try to argue me and say that video games are extremely culturally impacting, but the truth is that it is not so to the point of film.

But there are notable exceptions in the video game chronology that are worth bringing up, such as this instance. It is the immersive and fully engaging medium that will stand video games apart from other electronic media in the end.

Yeah, this is probably true. However, are videogames immersive (should be a word) enough to use that to stand on their own yet? I don't think so.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

I believe so. It's gunna be awhile, but it will definetly evolve into something more

What is "more" in your mind?
