It is worse to you guys because it is different, and it is all too evident.

How is slower movement better? How is it better to pair more powerful grenades with said slower movement? How is pausing a multiplayer game for five seconds better? How is breaking intended map flow with the press of a button better? How is the formula "three shots + melee = melee" better? How is randomising the outcome of utility weapon battles better? How is spawning with camo instead of having to control it better?

HOW THE -BLAM!- IS ANY OF THIS BETTER?

Without context anything can sound terrible.

I think you covered everything that is wrong with Reach. Well said.

I mean...I suppose it's understandable, also. You had generally the same type of gameplay for 9 years if you started back in 2001? Then something of this magnitude shakes it all up.

But despite justification, it doesn't change most of you are looking through rose colored glasses.

Yes. We hate it because it's different. Not because it's terrible.

If an independent game was released and played like this it would have lost its entire population by now.

The only reason so many still play it is because it is riding the staying power of the name Halo.

And even with that power many players of the previous and better Halos have given up on this because it wasn't as fun.

But go ahead and stay ignorant to all this. You'll probably just make a response that simplifies my entire post into a single sentence that doesn't reflect anything near what I said.

Forget it man, and get with the countdown. Shake this square world and blast off for Kicksville.

AFK: Away from Kontroller. Don't do it or you'll get the living crap smacked out of you by the Banhammer. If you disagree with any of this, you are just bad at Mortal Kombat.

Give us the context where all of those in a single game is a good thing that leads to enjoyable gameplay.

The only players that are just fine with all those aren't paying attention to those things.

  • 03.01.2012 3:12 PM PDT

The context for all those statements is how previous Halo games played comparitively to Reach.

It's pretty simple really, if this isn't your first rodeo, of course.

Reach was intended to play differently. Why the hell do you think they included Armor Abilities and different weaponry? To play the same? Christ.

Reach doesnt play much differently from the other halos if you think about it.

You know the game play is quite similar to the previous halos.
Its get the

-power weapons
-control the power positions
-use teamwork
-time the power weapons
-better team wins

its the other factors in the game that we complain about that have no business being there.

i feel that if they gave us armor abilities/bloom/no bleedthrough they should not have kept the core game play similar to the other halos it just doesn't work.

just my two cents ive raged enough.

Well damn. 500k players a day don't pay attention to anything!

No kidding, Sherlock.

Have you seen how many people play CoD?

  • 03.01.2012 3:19 PM PDT

@SpAmMer

Awwwwwww :(

Art thou enraged? lol

You dont know me or where I stand, so fall back with that "sit back and let us talk, -blam!-"

This is a moan session and nothing constructive at all is coming from this.

Just "343 sucks"...."how come, why come?"

I just find it funny that people snarked like CRAZY at each other for TU / Vanilla, bloom, ZB, etc..... and when the hardcore folks dont get their way, they act like somebody pissed in their cereal. lol

Y'all shoulda known the changes you wanted, you weren't going to get 100% of.

You'll get a lil here, a lil there.

They arent changing a WHOLE game just for you, dawg.

This bleedthrough -blam!- is irrelevant to me as it means nothing, so I dont see why people crying about that.

You all will get the Halo you want once 4 comes out.

Stop whining tho.

It's funny and sad all in the same breath.

Or maybe, hundreds of thousands of more people just like this game.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out if something sucks. Clearly, 500k players each like this game. We can argue on and on about competitive play, balance, blah blah blah...people don't do stuff they don't like unless their forced to do it.

No one is forcing those 500k players a day to play.
And here we go with the daily playercount total crap.

What relevance does this have to anything? How can you assume that each and every single person who plays enjoys the experience, just because they keep coming back?

More importantly, why was that number larger for Halo 3, and for three years?

Because popular = good, right?

lolololol.

I can run my face into the front grill of a truck. Chances are, I won't enjoy it, so I won't do it again. Though this is assuming Reach players have the common sense to stop doing something if they don't like it. I have a feeling you guys would take keys to light sockets expecting something different to happen each time.

RC Clone is the anti-thesis of a lurker.

And yet if you go in game and ask all those people what their first halo is they will mostly say Reach or Halo 3.

Most everyone that played before mid Halo 3 is gone now.

The ones here now have no idea what Halo was and most don't care either.

Now stop posting and stick to your retarded forums.

So let's take Halo back to it's deepest roots, shall we? Fewer gametypes, fewer weapons, no ranking, no 1-50, no MLG playlist, fewer vehicles, fewer playlists, fewer maps.

I'm sure people would jump right on that. It IS Halo after all.

And since it's not good, over 800k people already left this game. It can barely pull 100k players at a time on a good day. It's, what, number 6 on the XBL charts? You're right, numbers don't lie. They're clearly indicating this game's plea for help due to how bad it truly is.

You're completely missing the point. Nobody is asking for the game to return to it's roots in this way. We're merely asking for improvements present in past games alongside new refinements, because that's kind of what a subsequent release in a franchise is supposed to do: improve.

yes so that we could have our own "Super Slayer" playlist with TU settings without bleedthrough. Armor Lock is also surviving the transition.

As you well know, most of us wouldn't want that. But that doesn't prove what you think it does. It just demonstrates what I've been trying to say for the last year: we like good changes, we don't like bad changes.

I'm sure you'll find some way to ignore that though.

(For the record, fewer playlists and weapons would be good.)
