So basically... Waypoint is pro-vanilla?

Posted by: Sentox6
Waypoint isn't pro-anything so much as they're just anti-intelligence.

AFK: Away from Kontroller. Don't do it or you'll get the living crap smacked out of you by the Banhammer. If you disagree with any of this, you are just bad at Mortal Kombat.

You can haz adpat......o wait the playlist update does blow.

LMAO. That sounds awful.

There is literally no good reason to get rid of bleed through. We've been through the argument so many times, yet 343 doesn't look at the validity of the argument, they just listen to the masses, which happens to be made up of idiots.

Despite what the masses said, the bleedthrough system implemented in Reach was inconsistent and had no visual indicators.

It wasn't inconsistent. There was a different shield flare when the player got weaker, you could tell. It was just hard to see, and that's why people wanted it gone. It just felt inconsistent, key word being felt, because Reach was made without recharging health. It's certainly better than no bleed which made the game feel so damn clunky in CQC, and that's why it should stay.

Understatement of the year.

It also implies Halo 4 is going to be pure shenanigans.

We've said it so many times. I can't believe we're going to have to play with that again. I forgot no bleed even existed. Who is 343 listening to here, and what kind of idiocy did these people feed them?

Always up for REACH customs!

Maybe it was because they couldn't fix the healthpack + 1 DMR shot + melee = instakill bug.

The Waypoint forums are full of idiots. Telling somebody that you probably have a more accurate assessment of a playlist than them because you have over 5x as many games in it is "stat flaming", and can get you banned (that actually happened, btw).

Making changes to better a game, and then removing those said changes is f.ucking stupid. 343 is listening to the wrong demographic, the one that likes vanilla Reach and dislikes DMR starts (removal of squad).

So rather than fix the terribad health system that was designed around lolvanillaReach, they nuke bleedthrough entirely? 343 is taking steps backward from the TU.

I'll give you a two hints to what type of players 343 listens to. If you frequent waypoint, you'll recognize the GTs and the retarded posts they make.

Ohai, I'm Loscocco (pronounced Loss-cocoa). I'm a college student (computer science major), 3D animator, and long-time Halo player.

1: Hears competitive players come up with logical arguments to why a new melee system is beneficial.
2: Works on TU with new melee system
3: Brings in a pretty decently sized chunk of players to Reach
4: Hears a few casuals/derps complain about the new system with no logical arguments
5: Listens to derps.

Implying that it is fixed so easily. You can tweak melee damage, sure, but that may not even be what was causing the issue. It could have been something with the scripting of the beeldthrough. I dunno, but I am going to side with the folks that can actually see the code and how it all works together in real time. Hopefully they will be able to figure out a way to implement things without breaking them.

Reducing melee damage, MLG-style? No, that makes too much sense for 343.

Again, that is if the health pack glitch was actually stemming from MELEE damage settings. Which, it wasn't. People have tweaked health settings until the cows came home and this glitch never happened. When did it start? When Bleed was added. So it seems that there is something with Bleed that doesn't work. Could they tweak melee damage to simulate bleed? Fairly sure they can. Here is hoping they do, melee bleed makes perfect sense. Bullet Bleed, though, has never been on anything other then the Sniper/Beam Rifle, even the BR the first two bullets drained the rest of the shields while the third followed up for the kill. Bullet bleed just seems out of place.

Bullet bleedthrough is unnecessary, but melee bleedthrough is essential to preventing double-melee.

And it works fine in MLG with the reduced melee damage. The health pack glitch isn't really a relevant issue in actual gameplay, because it's very rare that a player survives long enough to use two or more health packs.
