As much as I hate cheaters, I don't think they should be banned from Halo 3, until they cheat in Halo 3. I understand the correlation because they are both Bungie games, but where does it stop? Should Halo 2 cheaters be banned from Gears of War? Should Halo 2 cheaters never be able to play video games again? Should they have their hands cut off?

The punishment should fit the crime people, and waiting another year to play on that gamertag should hopefully teach the cheaters a lesson. If not, we'll all get to see how well the new feedback system works...

I don't cheat but I said yes, maybe I should've said other but it's to late now.

My reasoning is simple, Halo2 and Halo3 are two different games. They should stay banned on Halo2 but Halo3 being not just a different game but also a different system (which as far as I know is currently mod. free.) should be a different case. So letting them play Halo3 is common sense, it's a second chance to play a Halo game on Xbox live without buying a second account.

If you can't even agree with giving them a second chance then good luck to you, I hope you never screw up in your life.

I smell a cheater, and this isn't life you little kid its a video game.

Cheaters should always be banned, because as a saying goes: If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

By cheating that accept the possible and obviously clear consquences that will occur when they cheat. And everybody who thinks they should get a second chance must etheir cheat, mod or bridge or they are friends of somebody who does do this.

Giving a cheater a second chance is like giving a Child Molesting Bastard another chance to go out and do some bad stuff too children.

You wouldn't be to happy if you were in a game against a cheater, if you stay in the game you could lose Rank or you could still stay in it and pretty much be a retard by not leaving.

If anybody is in a game with a cheater, they should just quit and report, by doing this you give the cheater no satisfaction to gameplay cheating.

-blam@- no! They cheated no matter what they did. If I had a dollar for every time I was modded and lost a level. I'd be -blam@- rich!

I don't care, but I voted "Depends". If they only cheated once, them why not give them another chance? If they cheated severly [i.g. level 50] then ban the Mo Fo with happiness.

Ah, look at the lonely people...

Why would you not let them back in? They can't cheat on an Xbox 360, you can't mod them.

This topic should be locked because it is a waste of space on the forums. Halo 3 is for the Xbox 360 and i really dont expect people to mod their 360. Plus there WILL BE NO BRIDGING/STANDBYING because BUNGIE will make the online multiplayer better. As you all probably know, the E3 "DEMO/TRAILER" was not part of the final game because they did it wrong and had to redo most of the game. They rushed it and thats why there are so many problems (most of them being in multiplayer). If they took more time with the game there would be absolutely no bridging and standbying. Also as technology gets better, BUNGIE can use it to make any downloadable content UNMODDABLE. Let alone if they even make any downloadable content.

Cheaters ruin the game, they should all be killed. Or at least beaten. With a lead pipe.

In due time people will mod it (already saw my friend, he modded his 360 but had to go through 3 of them and he said its not worth it because XboxLive detects you). It will be very rare to find a modder in Halo 3 and they will be famous. Especially since you can get 2 day trials and they are invaluable to millions of people but for people getting modded up in Halo 3 it will be very valuable.

No, unless Bungie isn't absolutely certain that they cheated.

No, cheaters should NOT be given a second chance. They knew what they were doing when they bought Xbox Live and they knew what they were risking when the cheated for the first time.
They were warned that they'd be banned for cheating, so...

If you ask me then we're discussing a very legitimate question. (at least those of us saying more than NOOO!!) {Here's a LINK to the topic that made this question come to my mind.}

Halo 3 is for the Xbox 360 and i really dont expect people to mod their 360.

It is for the 360 but as you mentioned in a later people will still mod. It may be rarer but we can't yet safely say that it has been eleminated.

Plus there WILL BE NO BRIDGING/STANDBYING because BUNGIE will make the online multiplayer better.

Again we can't know this until the game is out.(Although I am certain Bungie will improve on multiplayer)

As you all probably know, the E3 "DEMO/TRAILER" was not part of the final game because they did it wrong and had to redo most of the game. They rushed it and thats why there are so many problems (most of them being in multiplayer).

Doesn't really apply to halo3 but it is true (IMHO) that halo2 was a bit rushed. This certainly could be and likely is part of the reason so many MM problems popped up and most were fixed at least to some extent.

If they took more time with the game there would be absolutely no bridging and standbying. Also as technology gets better, BUNGIE can use it to make any downloadable content UNMODDABLE. Let alone if they even make any downloadable content.

Once more there's no way to prove that until the game comes out. So for now lets just agree to disagree.

Thank you for posting your thoughts in a respectful and inteligent manner. Thanks for reading what's probably my longest post on here ever.

Homerun!

No, they do not. Soon the Great Journey shall begin. But when it does, the weight of their heresy will stay their feet, and they shall be left behind.

He! Cool and great quoting EvilTurkey! It really fits.
Anyway I say NO!! Have you read the mails he banned guys mailed? Its RIDDICULUS!! They say they ''didn't know what the actually where doing''.

I don't know how you mod console games , but however you do it I know its not very easy. So how the heck could they just happen to mod the -blam!-? They know they souldn't cheat, so if they do they've only got themselfes to blame.

We don't need no water, let the mother -blam!- burn!
Burn, mother -blam!- !
Burn!

Absolutly not.

Anybody who would ruin the gaming experience for the rest of us deserves to be beaten senslessly with the banhammer.

yeah, since there are player reviews for the xbox 360 all the people with bad reps and modding history on halo 2 should be matched with eachother.. So all the people with good reps could play with eachother and not have to put up will all the bull-blam!- that goes on , or will go on.

"No and rules should be stricter." They need to perma ban the people that cheat and/or boost off of cheaters.

HELL NO! If you need to cheat at a game PERIOD then you shouldn't even be playing it in the first place! What motivates people to cheat period? If you want to "try out" mods then do it on someone's XBOX who doesn't have Xbox Live in the first place! Besides, what's the point now that the leaderboards gone? Mod your way up to a level 50 and then get banned or have your ass handed to you by the very few actual legit 50's?!?!? I'm sorry but on your poll the only people that would reply yes are that one guy who HIT THE WRONG BUTTON and actual cheaters who got banned for being jerks and sucking at this game! The rules should be even stricter in fact! Not strict enough to not allow you to have any fun (suicides, betrayals, etc.), my friends and I do that all the time, only in unranked games though. Don't like it? Quit out. But strict enough for people like SuperBouncers and such. I actually have an hour long tape of some jerkhole who superbounced on Burial Mounds and kept the flag up there for over an hour! While we're on this topic, here's a message to al the n00bies who can't play the game correctlyl( cheaters): Look at the poll, Majority rules, (female dogs). WE WIN.

Make it more strict. Even superbouncing should be banable. Even though that's not that bad, it would discourage cheaters. Going off the maps, suicides, betrayals, modding, etc. All should be banable.

No this way cheaters have something to think about,, if they keep the kids that cheated in halo 2 off matchmaking there will eventually been a drop in cheating in halo 3
