There is no excuse for having a K/D of less than 1.
How do you even have a K/D of 0.65 and be a inheritor? I know skill=/=Rank but The Amount of time you play you think he be good.

You're a Nova with a K/D of 0.89. That's not exactly the sturdiest platform to preach from.

So basically... Waypoint is pro-vanilla?

Posted by: Sentox6
Waypoint isn't pro-anything so much as they're just anti-intelligence.

I play this game a lot, and I'm really bad.

The average K/D is around 0.95-0.99 (for every person to go massively positive, there's one who goes massively negative, which will level out to 1. Factor in betrayals and suicides and you're looking at slightly less than 1).

Roughly 50% of the population will fall below this, while 50% of the population will fall above this.

Someone correct me if my math is off, I may have oversimplified things.

I find that most people with low k/d's don't play competitive much. But then there are some who have played 99% competitive games and have a low k/d. I play campaign more than competitive but my k/d has improved over the last month from .69 to .80.

Actually you are correct. I had forgotten about about those 2 factors.

It makes perfect sense. But then why when I go against other players that have 2.0 k/d's they are usually just as bad as or worse than the players with a k/d below 1.0?

I know a lot of players pad stats to give the appearance they are good (For example rolling in BTB 24/7, playing strictly objective matches and not doing the objective, or banshee whoring) but surely there are others who don't pad stats and by simply being a good slayer and actually decent at the game and can really use a DMR. Funny thing is I've never really run into them often or ever in reach lol.

Chances are he started from a higher number, but went down after trying to only get goose kills. Mine would plummet too if I did the same. Essentially? Lack of caring.

Because some people have k/d's greater than 1. Zero sum game.

There's so many BKs in this game due to a lack of ranked lists.

I'm pretty sure that's heresy, and that it conflicts with the "Code of Manliness" - page 792, section E subsection D paragraph 3.2. I suggest you relay that statement.

lol your a moron to post this but anyway if you play with randoms or you play thousands of games and your people just suck, aka the more you play the more possibilities you have to to get a lower kill to death ratio, ill play you any day a mano to a mano, since your ego is so high.

I forgot about that. There goes my analysis.

In the grand scheme of things, everything would still balance out to slightly less than 1. The problem is their stats aren't tracked, so if you were to consider the average K/D of all GTs excluding guests, you'd have to assume that more guests are bad than good, which would make the average K/D rise. I have no idea by how much and this is entirely speculation.

The only understandable way is if the person only plays objectives with his friends and he or she only go's for the objective, or you could be like analbumcover and spend your halo career using a hilarious weapon to get all of your kills.

You're welcome gentlemen...

I'll be the first to admit though, my skills lie with forging rather then in Matchmaking. Then again, half the time i don't have internet connection, and half the time i do, i'm not even playing reach, so i think that might also contribute to it.

They die more than they get kills.

BUT HOW

Perhaps they play lots of BTB or objective, and primarily function as vehicle drivers or other support roles that don't involve killing.

I've had matches where I had less than 5 kills but got 20 or more wheelman medals.

I still usually go positive cause I don't drive stupid and get myself killed. Once had a match where I got 1 kill, but I never died, and neither did my warthog. BTB slayer to 100, I don't know a lot of people who can get through without dying at all.

THREE REASONS:
1.dont know the map
2.cant drive
3.cant hit the head

This is probably the most likely set of reasons.
