I have a rendezvous with death. At some disputed barricade.

A neato neato battle would be a fight between MC and Arby....cept (GASP) In SpaCE! Oh yeah, theyd both be on top o some big ol battleship/galactic cruiser w/e u call those big things. They would have to dodge oncoming fire the ship is receiving and stuff and could jump real high, maybe hijack a banshee and go at it...mm?
The only way someone is going to get my fighting in a space battle is dragged kicking and screaming against my free will.
The MC would be slaughtered in a space fight, picture this: MC commandeers a Longsword and takes the battle to the Covenant. He unloads his whole payload (Archer missiles... etc) onto the Covenant Seraph. As the dust settles the MC sees that he has only just broken through the Seraph's shield. He turns the ship around in a 360 motion. He trains his guns onto the Seraph and goes charging in all guns blazing. The Seraph's far superior armour plating simply shrugs of the continual bombardment.
MC can see out of the visor, his attack did nothing but dent the chassis of the Seraph. The Seraph flies straight toward the MC and clips the Longswords wing. The wing then breaks off and the Longsword blows into a million tiny pieces, MC and all...
Think about it this way.
Q: What are the Human Longsword fighters equipped with?
A: Guns and Archer Missile pods.
Q: Good, now what are Guns?
A: High speed material projectiles often lead or kevlar, in this case, unknown.
Q: What are the Covenant and Human cruisers made out of?
A: Covenant cruisers are made of a high density unknown alloy capable of with standing high powered nuclear attacks. Where as Human ships are made of medium density double curved unknown alloy.
Q: Now, what happens when these ships blow apart?
A: The ship(s) will blow up causing a debris field of fast moving high density matter particles.
Q: So, are these "matter particles" the same as the ones the Longsword uses as its primary defensive weapon?
A: No, these particles have a far higher density and are moving at higher velocity than the Longswords equipped weapon's projectiles. In short the faster moving matter is more powerful.
Q: So is there more threat from debris than a Longsword??
A: Yes! (WTF!!)
Q: What level of damage is required to completely disable a Longsword?
A: A small plasma burst that hits any primary systems and/or equipment including; Life Support, Fuel Lines, Engine Stabilizers and/or Wing A or B.
Q: What level of damage is needed to destroy a Longsword fighter.
A: A plasma burst of sufficient magnitude that a medium thick metal alloy could be compromised.
Q: Could both the answers above be transmitted to matter projectiles, such as debris?
A: Yes, a matter projectile/debris could do the same amount of damage.
Q: Is more threat to Longswords created by floating debris or other space faring craft?
A: Floating debris, as it is more numerous.
Q: So Longswords can be easily killed by debris?
A: Yes!!
WTF!!!!
If you haven't read the books, you should. It clearly states several times: "Longswords never win in Aerial combat." They are just meant to draw fire and work in groups of three to take down smaller CCS class Covenant cruisers by the dropping of their entire payload.
MC + Longsword vs Arbiter + Seraph = A) Longsword gets blown to bits. B) Small bit of debris blows Longsword to bits.
It would never work. Covenant have all ways had supremacy in space combat and probably always will...
In NATO phonetic alphabet: [W] hiskey [T] ango [F] oxtrot!!!
\\: And in closing:
Q: How did the Human fleet commanded by Admiral Preston Cole defeat the Covenant fleet at the Human colony Harvest?
A: Luck
