Im really not sure they would create a map maker but if they are positive it will work well they should do it (I have heard good things about Farcry's map maker.)

post if u say yes

I don't listen well.

They had map creation devices for Marathon.....So uh...I'd say it's more Bungie then what your think Bungie is. Although they may choose to do whatever they want.

HECK YES. Do you know the sole reasons games like starcraft/warcraft still have a large amount of people still playins thah game online? MAP MAKER! not that halo needs such a thing to expand its popularity time, but thousands of people would rejoice if it was added to halo 3.

yah the map maker in far cry is a very good addition to that games repitor. i dont think it could hurt bungie if they added one.

(10:20:17 PM) Pezza: You were the one with the video camera breathing heavily. Of course you saw.

I really like the maps that Bungie creates, map maker would be a cool edition but i feel that it just doesn't fit in with the style of multiplayer that Halo has gone with.

You do realize that you wouldn't HAVE to play custom maps right? I mean, that's like me demanding that Bungie ban all zombie games from custom games because it doesn't "match their style".

THERE SHOULD BE NO MAP EDITOR. IT WOULD KILL HALO.

Marathon had map editors.
Myth had map editors. Myth was completely moddable.
Halo 2 for windows will have a map maker.

I see no reason for it not to exist in halo 3, except possible console limitations.

are u kiddin me? just have a section for matchmaking with classic maps and u are good to go. halo 3 would be fresh for ages if we had a nifty map editor. If it has way better quality than far cry which already rocks, I am exetremely pleased

I said no, and my point is a good one well at least I think it is. Why do so many people want stuff in Halo changed like adding a Map Maker, making the possibility to command Marines. Halo is the best games right, why would they add stuff from other games that arent as good to a game that is better without it. By adding stuff that people want could ruin Halo or defiantly make it like lesser games.

If there was a mapmaker wouldn't everybody want to make maps and play them over XBL. There would be a flood of maps...like thousands of people uploading maps on XBL. And many of them wouldn't be good. The only way i could see it working was if the were only playable through your own console or on a local network game, or Bungie would have to review every map that people made and want to upload onto XBL.

Exactly, these maps should only be for custom games. MM would have the default maps.

Do you think you can handle my gigantic COC?
~!TheHalo3D!~
-If your car could travel at the speed of light, would your headlights work?
-What happens if you get scared half to death twice?
-I intend to live forever; so far, so good.

I honestly don't think that bungie could sqeeze it in just because Bungie DOES go to the full potential of the gaming systems with the most recent gaming engines... and yes it DOES cause framerate if too many things are added (i.e Map Editor)...Although I think it would be a good Idea (kinda would sovle the problem for modders, well custom game modders atleast)

I think it could kill the game if the framerate went down... trust me it sux more than internet lag, kinda like Perfect Dark Zero and how they try to cover the graphics up by by making things more shiny and well...More HD-ish. I kinda think that the maps Bungie makes are perfect (Most of them) and are atleast decently balanced. Well that's my opinion i guess.

Let's think bigger here kids!
Bungie will release ALL the previous Halo maps and make them fully moddable...
Maps from Halo 1 all the way to the new Halo 3 maps will be able to be modded and played via customs.
Perhaps the most popular maps can be added as a 'flavor of the month' map on matchmaking.
If we can control things from weather, to lighting (dawn, dusk) and move things around, we'll be playing Halo for years to come...

I think a map maker sounds good right off, but all a map maker will do is make it easier for certain people to cheat. I love options for the player, but with as many options as a map editor would give us, it would ruin the Halo 3 online experience, with modders getting host then setting up a custom map that nobody has played before and in which the cheater will most likely have the advantage. But if a map maker is introduced, I do like the previous idea of their being a single option in matchmaking for custom maps.

As previously stated, maps that you mod, make, ect. Those would be for customs only.
