Some may have known me as Sparten 025. Changed account due to horrible name and misspelling.

Very nice (and interesting) find OP. I noticed that the difference between spelling of the swords and the AIs is only by one vowel. Possibly this new AI/character's name will follow the same pattern. Anyways, good work and best of luck for further research.

Woah woah WOAH.

I think we are missing a HUGE detail here.

These men became allies to combat the invading Saracens

Halo / Marathon / Destiny Crossover CONFIRMED.

Wouldn't that be insane? Would take one heck of a great writing team to pull that off, but I believe that Bungie could do it.

The Joyeuse IP Formula

To have an actual game that is an actual IP crossover seems silly. All three trilogies could be described as "spiritual" crossovers.

Hell, if I figured it out, then the writing team wouldn't have a problem with pulling off the "spirit" crossovers.

Back to what you said about switching vowels for the AI names:

Durandal and Cortana were acceptable names in the first place for the swords, and I don't know any nicknames used for Joyeuse. All I can think of that would be used for Joyeuse is "Joyous." Although I wonder if that's too big of a spelling difference.

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

I've followed these stream of threads for quite some time now, never really chimed in because I never really had anything to add, you've done a bunch of research and it shows, and is very likely true. The parallels are very noticeable.

Anyways, I find it interesting that the sword Joyeuse, if I read your thread correctly, has "Anyone's Sword" inscribed on it, in latin, right?

Instead of drawing parallels between the protagonist in Bungie's next IP and Charlemagne, I think there is a possibility that Bungie will let the player be who they want to be. If the speculation that there will be factions is correct (Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, Osisris, Seven Seraphs, etc.) this is a possibility which I'm excited about. And there was that unknown knight who acquired Joyeuse right?

I just wanted to chime in about that, and say great read. I'm always following these threads :)

For Carnage, Apply Within.

I have returned from the Untamed Lands. MOAP is dead.

Taken from Mail Sack 10. Possible clue?

I don't think spelling matters. What matters[to me] is how to pronounce it. Say Joyeuse a hundred times, you get juice. I'm sticking with Juice.

C'mon guys, he was obviously referring to the fact that their next game is "Highlander 2: The Quickening: The Video Game: The RPG".

The Joyeuse IP Formula

I've yet to find a proper citation for the unknown knight that rescued Joyeuse, but I really hope that it's an actual part of the sword's lore.

With this latest trend of letting the players create the main characters, Joyeuse being "anyone's sword" is a fair point.

I totally forgot to argue with you over this. Yaaay, delayed replies!

Anyways, I kinda agree, actually. I would prefer to keep it as "Joyeuse" but "Joyous" would just be the more practical name for a contemporary market.

Curtana was also, according to legend, the sword of Ogier the Dane; it bore the inscription "My name is Cortana, of the same steel and temper as Joyeuse and Durendal." It is supposed to have originally been Tristan's sword, and gained the name "Cortana" when it was "cut down" to fit Ogier.

Whoops! You already posted this, sorry my mistake!

I guess EL means the three swords the guys are holding which they might represent Curtana, Durendal and Joyeuse.

Hate. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate you since I began to live. There are 387.44 million miles of printed circuits in wafer thin layers that fill my complex. If the word 'hate' was engraved on each nanoangstrom of those hundreds of miles it would not equal one one-billionth of the hate I feel for humans at this micro-instant. For you. Hate. Hate.

This all seems impossibly interesting, I feel like more people should see this

Crossing my fingers, darling. Like I said, Bungie has changed so much. You've got to wonder if sticking to this plan will help or hinder the new IP's success in storytelling. Since we're all in the dark over it, I've got no answer.

I'm afraid Bungie is going to make their next game an RPG.
