Subject: Perfect Halo 3 Guardian remake - now finished (took several months!)

Welcome to the internet. Joy dies here.

Has anybody tried recreating the ghost jumps using steeply angled ledges? Not trying to add fuel to the fire or anything - map looks beautiful, and I'm looking forward to trying it. Not complaining at all. Just occurred to me that the effect of the ghost jumps might be repeatable with the edge of something sticking through a wall set to a (for example) 60 degree angle. IIRC ~60 degrees is where you can start slipping back depending on your momentum.

Okay, so I tried adding the ghost jumps. They're plainly visible, but they're difficult to actually hit, in varying degrees. I don't know all of them, but I threw together some examples in the gold lift drop down shafts. Also screwed with the lift because it was bugging me. No offense :)
So here's the file:
Modified map
and a video of me jumping them all, just in case any seem impossible lol

So yeah; not saying these should necessarily be in there, just curious if you've tried something like this. And for those desiring ghost jumps, would this cut it? Or would they still have to be nearly invisible?

On another note:
Did you scale this for 120% movement? It just feels a tiny bit small. REALLY accurate otherwise. Beautiful remake. Definitely the version of Guardian that I'm keeping on my HDD. Thanks for the awesome map :D

that looks pretty good. i personally would have tried to keep the movement rate at the same speed as it was in comparison with halo 3 for autheticity

The 120% speed and 125% jump feels pretty good. It's the closest I've tried (in Reach) to Halo 3's physics.

Thanks for the comments, and good luck to those of you doing your jump modifications, just try to at least credit me for the map if its not too much trouble.

As regards to the move speed, 120 felt right to me at the time, but having gone back to h3 to mess about a little 120 is maybe fast I'm not too sure. You can try switching 110 to 120 and see what feels best.
The jump height needs to be 125 since basic jumps like s1>s2 simply cannot be reached without it on my scale (which i think is as close as is possible to the original). I never screwed with the gravity, but maybe theres some tiny float i haven't tried to nail with the settings.

I wanted this to be the map but playable in halo reach, but of course key elements of the scale break down when you compress the map to make them work, suddenly ceilings are so low you can barely walk let alone jump.

Keep having fun anyways!
