And so God called Moses to come forth but he came fifth and was therefore disqualified.

Spending all day stressing over stats and what's going on in a screen. What's sad is that it reminds me exactly of myself a year ago. I didn't really have any friends or any hobbies. I just wasted my life away playing video games, and I thought I was going to kill myself. But then, I discovered a certain musical instrument that basically saved my life. I transferred my energy into playing and mastering that instrument, which in turn introduced me to all sorts of amazing bands, giving me another full on hobby. 6 months later I was in a band, and was finally starting to make friends. When I come back and look at this forum, I just kind of shake my head. That is all.

Hmmm.... Guitar?

I'm new to competitive Halo and Halo itself (Reach being my first video game ever actually). Message me if you want to play;

Reach: MLG, Arena, Doubles, BTB and customs.
Halo 3: Ranked MM and customs.

Also I have every Halo title and all of its DLC on the Xbox 360.

You guys can sling as much mud as you want, but you're only avoiding the truth. I ain't mad or trolling bros. Just take a step back and assess yourselves. Maybe I am making an incorrect assumption on some of you. But if you're playing (on average) more than an average of 5+ games a day, there's a problem. There's absolutely no reason to come on here making topic about who's team is the beastest and talking about how you pooped on some other nerds... and say you don't care. That's not normal.

Bass actually, the cooliest instrument. Watching my skills improve is far more rewarding than any virtual Credits, truly makes me proud. Music is a skill that's new deleted when a new iteration comes out. And trust me, it's more fun too.

I kind of feel sorry for you that you let a video game take over your social life and you didn't have any friends. It's called learning to balance the two, something you obviously can't do and can only have one "thing" to do in your life at a time.

Forget it man, and get with the countdown. Shake this square world and blast off for Kicksville.

Reach host ranking algorithm: (a*quit_percentage + b*isMexican + c*(1/KDR) + d*hasGuest) * 100
where a > b = d > c

All this posturing and condescension and you're the -blam!- BASS player?

Coming from someone who's played over 500 hours. That's absolutely frightening. I think that's around two hours every single day for a year and a half. Yeesh, that's pretty scary man. Have you ever stopped and wondered what you could have spent that time doing?

PSR = (((K+A)/D)*Win%)*120
The average player's PSR = 100

What's wrong with people having a hobby that they like and wish to excel in? Do you really think you learning how to play an instrument and joining a band is any less pointless of a hobby than video games?

I play 10 instruments, and these days I get more enjoyment out of playing Halo than I do out of playing most of those instruments.

One persons hobby is no better/worse than someone else's. All that matters is the level of satisfaction that one person gets out of their hobbies.

Imagine punching somebody so hard that they turned into a door. Then you found out that's where ALL doors come from, and you got initiated into a murder club that makes doors. The stronger you punch, the better the door. So there are like super strong murderers who punch people into Venetian doors.

Let me guess. You're one of the idiots who listen to bands like Foster the People with a half brained bassist who plucks quarter notes with a pick?

Get better taste and you'd see.

I don't have anything against flee, but if you really wanted to show off someone's bass skills you would have linked a Primus video. You fail

That's very mature and I applaud you for your response. But video games are very much a "dead end" skill. Your stats are going to be deleted in 10 years, new games will come out rendering it useless, and the most money you could actually make doing it is about 20k a year, and you have to spend as much time practicing that as a world class instrumentalist practices. I guess if that if you accept those facts your fine, but you (not you in particular) just have to get out and explore and you'll find there's things much better than video games.

Primus kicks ass, but most people here wouldn't understand Claypool's amazingness. I think you deserve a cookie for mentioning them.

Hes right, you're so afraid of video games taking over your life that you stopped gaming all together. You come to this forum saying that you are stronger then the rest of us for it but you're actually pathetic for not being able to keep control of your own life.

I stopped gaming because I don't want to anymore. It just isn't fun. Trust me. Just take a couple weeks off and you won't have the urge to go back.

Excellent, then you must appreciate the skill required to do such. (I can play Panic Attack btw)

That's better than I expected. As an electric guitarist, I'm required by law to give bassists crap, but I'll still give you props for playing stuff like Panic Attack.

That being said, to get to that level you must had to put a fair bit of practice time in. Ultimately, you spent your time getting better at making certain noises, and that's not really very productive for humanity.

I'm pretty sure you're just trolling, but if not, just realise your life experiences are not universal for everyone.

"I'll tell you right now, if you ever see someone called ll wa1do ll... leave the game immediately. My friend knows him, I've been in his party a few times, do not mess with this guy. From what I've heard, he's the real deal. I also heard someone made a guy named Wa2do (similar to his name) and then he hacked that guy and boosted off his level." -From Minou on Bungie.net

You're bad, kid.
