Subject: Why did Guilty Spark say we are forunner (book spoilers)

At the end of Halo 3 Guilty Spark says that we are forunner. But as im sure a lot of us know, the humans arn't actually forunner. We were in fact at war with them.

So why does Guilty Spark say this.

He is human and can operate the installation. To Guilty Spark, he is just as good as Forerunner.

Pretty much. I think Spark assumed that humanity knew what happened (Through GEAS, I'd guess) but for some reason, they don't. I think he also assumed that humanity would be OK with the use of the rings, and that seriously backfired.
