I am sooo glad that Marty is stepping his game up on the upcoming end to Halo. I love his work, and love how Halo 2 implemented rock bands into the campaign mode...sweetness to the tenth power. I love those hard hitting riffs, and driving, almost galloping, music. I was wondering about Halo 3's involvement of bands to it's ambience. What band, group, singer, or musician should Marty collaborate with? Personally, I think that "August Burns Red", christian metal band, would play into the feeling of dispair and the grandness of the story's tole about earth. The album is called "Thrill Seeker", and track 10, "Eve of the End", and track 11, "The Seventh Trumpet", is so Halo-esque it's freaky. I mean you listen to it, and it just sounds and reminds you of Halo in all of its spendiferous glory. Anywho, post some music that you think is Halo-esque and should be considered as a colaboration with Marty.

Off Topic: August Burns Red is a badace band, I'll be seeing them in June with Zao and Demonhunter when they hit up Atlanta.

On Topic: I was hoping for a pure Marty soundtrack on this one, no guest guitarists or anything, all Marty, all pimp

Hey, how about you just leave it to one topic and not make two topics about the same thing?

Halo CE......(sigh) the good ol' days......

“Go, stranger, and to Lacedaemon tell that here, obeying her behests, we fell.”

its all great as long as there isnt rap music in the game, i would probably puke if that happens

And why did you leave the same post on two different threads...

Either way, problem solved, other thread is edited to steer posters to this thread.

Aaaaand I would like to add that some Chevelle would be awesome....

HEY MARTY! WHEN YA GONNA SPEAK UP ABOUT THE BANDS?

Bring in some serious rock. But with the 360's ability to have custom sound tracks it really doesn't matter much

I want Marty to do the entire soundtrack, no rock, no rap, just Marty. If you want Rock, that's why the Xbox 360 has custom soundtracks.

I agree wholeheartedly, btw, when are we getting that trailer mp3?

They don't choose when to give us MP3's, but it would be nice to be standing in line at wal-mart, and have Marty's music start playing from your pocket. Everyone looks at you, and then you pull out your cell-phone and answer it. It would be so sweet to have that peice as a ring tone. And if anyone EVER listened to August Burns Red, you would understand why I think they fit the Halo-esque sound.

Five Tenets of Bungie.net Forum Life:
1. Trolls will always be well fed.
2. Blame-ability thy name is stosh.
3. Bungie has no control over retail prices.
4. Watch out for low-flying defense drones.
5. Seven is not optional, but rather, an inevitability.

I'm not opposed to other musicians and bands helping with the soundtrack, since I know they'll more or less have to do things Marty's way.

Um... no. August Burns Red doesn't sound anything like Halo music. Halo music is violins, gaulic chanting, mixed in with guitars, not hard riffs with screaming. Lots of screaming.

I hope we get to use custom tracks while driving the Warthog in single player. How cool would it be to blast some N.W.A. while doing a drive by and putting a cap in a Prophets ass. Yo. Jigga What. Holla at yo' boi. Fo shizzle.

Um... YEAH. August Burns Red does sound Halo-esque. If you have never played the campaign mode for Halo 2, then there is an instance in the last level where hard rock had it's place, and it fit the surroundings. The two tracks I mentioned, which you probably never listened to, are mostly instrumental, and are AWESOME! Marty does hold the wheel, I agree. But wouldn't it be sweet to hear some hard-rock/metal for the big battle scenes?

Only the dead have seen the end of war. - Plato

I totally love the fact that even if nobody agrees on the music coming out of Halo 3 that the 360's custom soundtracks are always available. I myself think that some alternative rock bands would be good in that category. I saw somewhere in another thread a guy suggesting techno, may he die soon. Custom soundtracking on live will be my favorite though. I love playing halo to music, I could swear up and down it improves my playing.
