I was on the MAW server. It seemed a bit laggy, but not horrid. People were complaining about the netcode alot more than usual. I left to take a break and couldn't get back in.
There are like 3 or 4 totally full servers up and 20 or more empty ones. Usually, at this time, (9pm), there are a couple of dozen populated servers– at least the way I have my filters set– <150 ping, CTF. Even opening up the game types to include individual and any type of game just got more empty servers.
I went on some empty slayer servers, some people joined, we played a while and soon the network connection was lost. This happened a few times.
I'm gonna run a diagnostic on my computer, but I don't think it's me.
Any body else experiencing this?
Edit:
I ran the diagnostic program. It found a few things wrong and fixed them. I got back into the MAW server and things worked fine. I tried some other servers from the GameSpy list. I could play until I was killed a couple of times, then I'd lose the network connection. It seems like direct IP is fine, but servers that I find through GameSpy don't work right.
That's why I'm asking if anyone else is experiencing similar problems– if it's a problem with GameSpy that others are having, too, I don't need to reinstall Halo. Hey! That might explain why so many servers were empty. If others were having the same sort of problem they'd end up quitting.
My advice to myself would be to deinstall and reinstall Halo. I guess I'll try that, tomorrow if things don't clear up– it's late.
