Ohai, I'm Loscocco (pronounced Loss-cocoa). I'm a college student (computer science major), 3D animator, and long-time Halo player.

Armor generates more than cosmetic effects?

Weapons and objectives come up on radar
Abilities and perks like an RPG
Weapons don't have respawn timers any more

All so it's more fair when a noob gets matched with a better player?

I take it ranking is a thing of the past then? *sigh*
To be fair, I never got my hopes up. This is the 'Phantom Menace' of Halo. I don't expect to see anything good from this point on until the second half of the 6th game. And I expect Cortana will get replaced with Jar Jar Binks. And the entire campaign will be about slaughtering Gungans.

We're hearing that power weapons may not respawn in at set intervals, adding some unpredictability as to when rocket launchers, Spartan Lasers, and WMDs may reappear on the battlefield. Knowing when an important thing like a power weapon is going to reappear on the map is important because, in a game with two evenly matched teams, it can decide the winner when all other factors are equal.

Making sure that your team is the one that gets that advantage and not the other team is extremely important for skillbased gameplay.


Sure, if one team is of massively higher skill than the other it won't make a difference, but if they are almost equal then it is an important part of the game.

If this random spawn stuff is kept in what ever the equivalent of the competitive, ranked playlist, then it will be disastrous for games between high skill teams.

If you take the time to figure out where weapon spawns are then you deserve to grab them first. Why should somebody who doesn't know deserve a waypoint to show them "here little buddy, this will show you where rockets spawn."?

It's not elitist. ANYBODY can learn where weapon spawns are. If you've played Reach for a year and still don't know where weapon spawns are on most of the maps, you're stupid, and if somebody else grabs them first because they know where to go then it's only fair.

343 is giving bad kids crutches, nothing more. You don't improve if you rely on crutches.

First off: I didn't knew about the waypoint part, in that case I reconsider my standing on that.

Second: If people don't know where the weapons spawn then bad for them yes, it will belong to anyone who gets it first.

Finally: I didn't say knowing where the weapon spawns was elitist, only the idea of the best players always getting the best weapons was. If that was not what you meant then I apology for it's how I understood.

This sucks. I'm going back to the much better game Halo: Reach when this pile of poop comes out. I will then keep complaining and saying they should change all the settings back to the way they were in Reach. Slower movement speed and A LOT lower jump height. My god those spartans are flying. It's so damn unrealistic.
