Alrighty, so today I started and almost finished a remake of Firing Range from Black Ops in forge, and I was thinking about making a COD like gametype as well. My first question is what so you think of my loadouts and/or ideas? And on a side note, players will be immune to headshots, so the DMR/sniper won't be super OP, and the players will have no shields

First loadout- AR/pistol-Sprint-1 sticky (like an smg/rushing class)
Second-Shotgun/pistol-sprint-1 frag (Shotty class, maybe for playing objectives and such?)
Third-DMR/plasma pistol- no AA or maybe hologram-1 frag (Like an assault rifle class)
Fourth- Sniper/plasma pistol-hologram- 1 sticky (obviously a sniper class)
Fifth- AR/Grenade launcher (possibly rocket? Maybe too op?) - no AA- 1 frag (an explosive-based class, for clearing rooms, protecting objectives etc)
So those are my loadouts so far, and suggestions for them? I was also planning on making objective games to it as well.

Second question, do you think this would be at all possible to get a gametyoe like this, or similar to this in action sack? I think it would be a really fun gametype to have fun in, and it would be like halo, but with COD like action, and it'd be just purely for fun. So would you like to see it, or would you play this gametype if it were in action sack? Thanks for any feedback!

change the damage modifiers so it take 3 shots max to kill someone with the DMR, sniper is a 1 shot weapon in COD

What is so bad about it? It would be for custom games, and changing a game up a little never hurt anyone, I think it would be a good addition, at least for something like action sack, where people play it for light-hearted fun. Besides, swat it like COD too, so it isn't like this hasn't happened before.

DMR is a 5 shot, 4 shots to remove shields then the kill shot (5th shot)

pistol is a 3 shot kill in anniversary (until tomorrow, then it will be a 4 shot)

I dont think it would be smart to have a sniper or grenade launcher in loadouts, especially if there arent going to be any shields.

I don't know CoD, but given the gametype you're describing, I would probably test out 110%+ damage resistance to keep the kill-times reasonable. Also, I would avoid any shield damage focused weapon like the PP. That would just be frustrating in a no-shields gametype. I'd go with magnum secondaries across the board, or one weapon spawns. Also, grenades are a way to augment the value of each load-out a tiny bit. Still the sniper rifle might be a bit OP with those weapons against it. I'd go with a focus rifle. It's a fast kill once shields are gone.

Load-outs:
Sprint/Plasma Repeater/Magnum/1-sticky
Evade/Shotgun/Magnum/1-frag
Sprint/DMR/Magnum/1-frag
Hologram/Focus Rifle/Magnum/no grenades
Sprint/Grenade Launcher/Magnum/2-frags

If I had to guess, I'd say it would probably work best with ~200% damage resistance. Might be a bit much, but I think 100% would probably mean magnums would dominate three of the load-outs. Oh, and if you want to increase movement speed, you might want to consider removing AAs altogether. Sprint gets a little whacky at higher speeds, and evade can kill you lol

As for getting it into action sack; it might need to be a little quirky in the scoring to achieve that. Maybe set it up so deaths are worth -1 point and kills are worth 2 or something like that.

Hmm, I was hoping to keep it to mainly spartan weapons, but I guess it could be better with the focus rifle, and I was going to use the PP in the other loadouts because I felt like certain classes would have been a tad cheap with them, but I just realized that the whole "immune to headshots" would apply to them too, so I don't see a problem anymore, but thanks for the advice! It's harder to strike a good balance if you only let yourself choose form half the weapons. As for getting stuff into MM, you've gotta run customs on it, make it popular (and make sure there are no bugs), and then you need to catch a community cartographer's eye. There's a thread on Waypoint's forums that explains it pretty nicely, and gives you some direction in finding a community cartographer once you're ready.

Ok, just to clarify, I really do not care about everybody saying just play COD, and whatnot. I'm saying that it may be pretty fun on halo, to have all of the same weapons, but have it a little more fast paced, and quicker kill times. I'm not saying I want to bring COD over to Halo, I just think that a gametype like this would be interesting, and a good, fun break from the normal Halo type playlist, hence why I said I think (if anything, and if it would even have a chance of being in it) it should be in action sack, which is full of gametypes for people to have pure fun in, not having its own playlist about it or something (which they already have something extremely similar, A.K.A. swat). I'm just saying it would be interesting and fun, nothing more.

Hmm, well I guess I did not think of that, so I will definitely test it a bunch, and I know I am no where near it being ready, at all, but thanks alot for the help, I had no clue on how to do it, so thanks for helping me! Maybe one day I will get it into MM! Hahaha
