I'm not sure some of you guys realize how expensive and up to date your computer would have to be to run Halo 3 on the PC.
First of all, the highest ATI graphics card using AGP in the "under 200 dollars" price range, doesn't even have HDR. Which means you're going over 200 bucks just for the grahpics card. Dont forget your 2 gigs of RAM, oh and a high speed CPU.
If you cared how fast load times happened, you might try a RAPTOR hard drive, or just go stupid and get a Cheetah "scuzzy" drive. Can't play neato burrito games on an old CRT monitor. gotta get LCD.
And then you need a 5.1 sound card AND surround sound speakers.
Gaming keyboards are nice. I want one from thinkgeek myself.
AND according to rumors, Halo 2 will only be available on windows VISTA. Which isn't even out yet.
I dunno... I'd be willing to buy a 400/500 dollar 360 to save on having to pay over 1500 for the high end system.
PC games tend to have variable graphics so you could tone them down for those who dont have PCI-E cards (im still stuck on agp getting the money to upgrade is tedious). Most "hardcore" gamers have top notch pc's that could get up off of the desk and slap you. I think i read a review in a respectable magazine that you can get a board that ran four YES FOUR SLI cards (old news i know) for the hardcore gamers who want all their graphics settings to the point where its extremely hard to tell whether/spelling the lighting effect that uses so much processing power is even on.
Im pretty sure you could live without the 5.1 surround (a decent pair of headphones does the job for me) and as for ram, one of the cheaper components for pc's, even my pc has 2 gigs of ram and mines so outdated it has trouble playing windows 3d pinball (i own at that game)
Back to the topic, no the xbox is like school in july, halo 3 will be to classy for the xbox
