Halo: Reach has been criticized a lot since its release. People have called it everything from flawed to completely unplayable. It was even, supposedly, going to be killed off by a number of games including Crysis, Battlefield 3, Gears 3, etc. I just wish to point out that, even a year and a half after its release, it's still in the top 10 games played. It's been sitting at spot #6 for quite some time now too.
I just think it's pretty funny that despite how many people say this game is bad, unplayable, broken, uncompetitive, horrible, etc., lots of people still play this game. It still regularly gets either close to, or over, 100,000 people playing it at peak hours. No one may want to admit it, but the game is quite enjoyable to play.
Now that Halo 4 has been announced, I think that Reach will only continue to survive until the next game's release due to Halo hype.
Also, I wish to add that it isn't only casuals playing this game, as they would not last for this long. Hardcore players still make up a decent amount of the population as can be seen in BTB teams, the To4s in MLG/ZB Slayer, and the people who still try to be good at Arena.
So, community, what say you in the face of Halo: Reach's continuing lifespan?
