Well, my friend ryan invited me over to sleep over a few years ago. He also invited our friend Freddy to come over too. When fred arrived he was talking about his new xbox and this kickass game he just bought. Sounds fun, right? Wrong! They were up all dam night playing it without me (during that period I didnt even know there was such company as bungie, or halo, sad right?) Well, ditto the next morning. When Fred's dad came to pick him up he also invited me and ryan along (his dad is soooo cool). We got to freds house, and guess what? I was just as bored as the first night, watching them play halo!

Well, you probably think i have -blam!- friends, but our friendship has evolved.
Too bad my first memory was a bad one, but, then a month later all that my friends kept talking about was that game so i picked an xbox, and a copy of halo up, it was the greatest game ive ever played!(well not till halo 2, of course!)

post your guys', and girls first experiences, im happy to hear em'!

Well my first halo memory is a long one. It all started when I went to Red Rock(a nice little place outside of Las Vegas) with my good friend Bobby(by the way, my best friend is Tanner, the dude who i am responding too, hes cool respect him) and he could not stop talking about this great game called halo(and how much he sucked at it) So I spent the night at his house and we played this game all night. And that is my story of how i first met HALO!!!!!!!!!(Oh yeah and after that I went to tanners house and played it over there, surprised that he had it too)

At a pre-school sports camp thing for marching band, some guys played Halo at lunch, and I sucked, but now I rock.

it was august 8th 2002
i saw my friend play halo on the pillar of autumn and i saw all the laser fire and i thought it was soooo -blam!-.

i didn't like it until i started playing blood gulch.

then i gave the campaign and almost creamed my pants when i saw that you could have 3 people in the hog!

I clung to the pistol and loved it if i died in campaign, i'd go find it.

i clung to the sniper and forgot the stupid pistol

i tried to get good with the pistol and suceeded

then i needed to get good at sniping again

now finally i have mastered all the weapons and probably owned a few of you the other day on Xbox live. check the vid in my sig.

Your First Halo Memory

Way back when bungie was independant, and when it was going to be released for the macintosh. I was doing my usual bungie site visit and noticed they had a movie preview of a new game they were doing, Halo! (The preview was the one released at the mac expo, or what ever, and it just floored me how beautiful the graphics were)

I would have to say that my very first memory of Halo was when I went over to a friends house and we played co-op on the level Halo. We were playing on normal, while my friend was already familiar with the game, I was'nt. Which meant I got my ass owned by the covenant. It worked pretty well though, I distracted the covies by running around like a chicken with it's head cut off, I had the weapon accuracy of a flood combat form with half of it's face blown off, and a severed left arm, while my friend killed them off with ease. After that I did'nt play much more because I thought the game was'nt that good. But I have learned the error of my ways, and have evolved into a much wiser human being, in which now I worship the game I had no intention of ever playing again. LONG LIVE BUNGIE and their masterpiece HALO.

Imagine it... it was a sunny day, the shops were open and the streets crowded. I was walking down the road to the city square, as it hit there was this mad French market which smelt of really bad cheese. I was stuck behind a mass of people all thinking they are gourmets - the French people at the stools were taking the piss out of them so much - silly 'English fools' you could here them whispering as they sold them very expensive Cheddar that was most likely made not much far from there anyway. ANYWHO! I decided to duck into a store for a moment. Not looking i stepped over the threashold, a dank smell met my nostrils. I knew this sense well - i had accidentally stepped into GAME. The darkness feel as a corporate zombie crawled accross the room, drooling with the knowledge that i was helpless, the exit was blocked as a wall of people back up against it. I was the only one in the shop. He almost spoke but before he could i nipped behind a PC Games stand, he was bamboozelled - the games were just too complex for him. Defeated he slithered away behind the counter. I turned and there it was. The mighty XBOX encased in all its glory - how i loathed it. My hatred for the Microsoft had tinted my vision. It cowered above me like some great - thing - then my eyes were slowly drawn to the screen - a little green man running arround. Love was born and i had to try it. I spent 4 hours playing in that store. Eventually i bought the bOx and a free copy of halo. It was sad to say, but game made a sale out of me. My social status had freefalled to that of a ... well me, i was at the bottom. I still sit there - but im happy in my dark hole, possed by the HALO. My life a small shadow of what it once was... but im happy... i think... thats what it tells me... your happy Kent... your happy... don't leave... you don't want cake... put your hand round the controller just for a few more seconds... OHH! look a grunt... tasty grunt. Now im 2 stone ligher and the cake is rotten... but i still play my halo...MY HALO!!!!!!!

nice taking to you all!

My friends won't play halo with me anymore... nor Golden Eye for that matter... Half-life too when i think about it... actually let me clarify - my friends won't play any FPS' with me. Apparently they like the Mario games and the Sonic games... the say "they require that bit more skill"... but i iknow the truth... i know they can't handle the awsome godly light of the FPS, nor my skill - aquired from hours and hours and hours and hours of practice. I think i lead a sad life.... my housemates will play paintball with me... i force them too... then they come back with big grins.. I'm short sighted and can't wear the glasses under the goggles... im like a blind puppy with a gun... and my allies are the only thing in range... god help them!

thanks...

When Halo first came out I didn't take much notice. I vaguely remember the large Halo adverts and posters splashed all over the game shops, but at that time I was living in a hazy world created by lack of sleep as my 1st daughter was only 3 months old . 9/11 and the repercussions of that were also at the forefront of my mind and the whole Halo thing passed by me.

I was, of course also a PS One merchant at the time, and I was pretty much happy in my world that consisted of Syphon FIlter 1& 2, Driver, et al.

It was about a year after that I went to an old friend's house. He had an Xbox and put Halo on in Co-op mode on T&R. I was totally blown away! Sci-fi had always been a big draw for me since I first saw Star Wars Episode 4 when I was only 5 so the whole concept was fantastic.

My mate Graham put the game on Legendary so when we got inside the T&R the Plasma sword Elites kicked my ass - Big Time! so we switched to AoTCR which was also great.

It wasn't until almost a year after that that I bought a copy of Halo six weeks before I had sold my PS2 (which I had owned for less than a year) and bought an Xbox.

I remember those dark winter nights when I was battling the Flood that I would emerge from a Halo session, shaking and drenched with sweat... Wow!
