now it's pretty much exactly the same as cod, no one works together and all people do is betray and steal kills, if anything i think the community has ruined reach more than the dmr/aa's because the community is filled with tryhard cod players who don't care about teamwork and just wanna get a pointless killing spree.

Immortality: A toy which people cry for, And on their knees apply for, Dispute, contend and lie for, And if allowed Would be right proud Eternally to die for.

Duh, the community ruins every game.

Why try to work as a team when you're going to get credits just for playing the game?

I have to ask why the community degraded so much between Halo 3 and Reach.

And the community wasn't even that good in Halo 3, but comparing ti with Reach makes them look like saints.

What exactly happened to cause such mass retardation and stupidity?

Without a win/loss or exp-based ranking system, it seems much of the community has no incentive to play and/or work together as a team. Cue the griefers, betrayers, trolls, etc., who, although were in previous games, have never been as prevalent as they are now.

it's called consideration for other players, i don't care if they have a mic or not, they should at least have the decency to cover each other, you cannot lone wolf in reach unless your playing rumble pit, in team games you work as a team and thats it, don't like it then play rumble pit. even in grifball people still lack common teamplay, grifball requires absolutely no skill whatsoever just teamwork yet people manage to fail at even that. that proves the community has taken a downfall.

and i don't care about rank i just care about having fun playing the game and working as a team to win, i don't care about winning or losing i just wanna work together.

rank means nothing in reach anyways and nor do credits, i have pestillence but do i feel special? no i just like pestillence because i play alot of infection customs and it feels more fitting in fact i think everyone should have pestillence in infection.

exp was wourthless anyways highest skill was what mattered in halo 3.

You misunderstood. That is not my view, but rather the view of much of the community.

Again, you misunderstand the point as a whole. No surprise there, though.

"What's up baby, how are you doin'? I hate the sound of my own voice and I been invited here to distract my self from the fact that I wrote all of this garbage."

That's because Halo's community, like most console communities, is terrible. CoD's actually isn't too bad besides the kids and the people who think that their 10th prestige makes them a military expert. Battlefield's is a little better except they claim to have superiority over CoD because they are playing a modern first person shooter where they play as US military forces in serious situations, whereas CoD is not. Generally they're more stuck up because they think their game is serious business.

Halo's community used to be great and still is in some parts, but they'd rather stew in butthurt over being dethroned by Modern Warfare then actually discuss something. Try to find a "critical" Halo Reach/Halo 4 post that doesn't mention Call of Duty. The very mention of the phrase Call of Duty makes this forum's blood boil. I think they secretly love it, but they'd rather cling to the good ol' days of Halo 3 than accept that Halo has some catching up to do.

As for the betrayals? Kids. Always kids. This generation of console gamers is full of wee lads and lasses who act like morons. They're in Call of Duty, they're in Battlefield, and they're in Halo. It's independent of game. Every time I hear someone yelling into the mic, it's a kid. Not all young gamers are bad, but most bad gamers are young.

Two makes there more than speakers.

If anything the "tryhards" would be the ones concerned about a good team.

Inb4 terrible parents allowing their television-raised spoiled kids to play video games in stead of letting them do something useful or active.

In the good old days, with a mature (but still relaxed) community it was so much better.

Not quite. I had a friend who I used to play with religiously in H2 and H3, who does nothing but grief people in Reach. And he doesn't just do it alone; he usually goes in with a group of like-minded players whose sole purpose is ruining other players' experiences. When I ask him why he does it, he just says "Why should I try if I'm going to get my rank either way?" Keep in mind that this is a man in his mid-20s.

Well, maybe not always kids. There'll always be some people who just don't care about their rank or lack thereof.

The booting/betrayal system is stupid in Halo in general. I knew people who griefed in Halo 3, and it's because there's no guarantee that you'll get booted for betraying someone.

No argument there, but it seems to be more rampant with this credit-based-everybody-wins ranking system.

I didn't know people team killed in COD since friendly fire is usually off. Also I don't get mad if they "steal" my kill usually its just my teammate helping.

Teamkilling isn't turned off in the Hardcore playlists.

or better yet, why bother working as a team when your teammates go -12 and can only get 2 kills.

You basically ARE the team sometimes lol

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

Go back to the Flood, OP.

I know but he acted like it happened all the time, besides halo is the king when it comes to betraying and griefing. Cod doesn't have -blam!- on us.
