i find that just thinking about the teleporters makes me a little confused. a spartan and an elite can go straight through them, but what about grenades and rockets (among other things)? realistically, if there really was a teleporter in the world, it would transport anything of solid matter from point A to point B, so why not a grenade or a rocket? you may look at it as cheap for gameplay, but it makes sense. maybe not on warlock where one teleporter can directly se the other, but really, why not?
if anyone has any ideas or input, dont hesitate to post.
I wonder if it simply was just a constraint of the programming. I wouldn't rule out the possibility that doing so would tax computing resources for very little incremental gameplay gain. I'd have to imagine that putting tons of projectiles through a portal and having them come out the other side with the same speed, path, and position as when they came in would probably use up some computing resources.
With players, it seems like the only thing that they have to handle is orientation. Since if you walk into a portal backwards, you come out backwards.
Just throwing that out there.
Maybe it would work just fine. I'm not really that high a level programmer.
