Subject: What do you think 343 was given to work with?

We are soldiers without borders, our purpose defined by the era we live in. This is our Heaven, and our Hell.

With the ending of Halo 3, we know the accounts of Mendicant, Didact, and the Librarian to an extent. These are only hidden in terminals of course. We also know that Chief and Cortana are drifting into the orbit of a mysterious planet with Forerunner symbols on it.

My question is, when 343 was writing Halo 4, do you think they were given a ton of information by Bungie, or do you think they analyzed Halo 3 repeatedly and tried to piece together a story based on context and imagination?

I kind of feel like Bungie had a big chat with 343 about the direction of the story before they started writing. I don't think they would just leave the story direction so wide open to 343's first Halo game. What do you think?

This will probably NEVER get answered by a Bungie Member, but perhaps they could shed light on the subject (to an extent)?

So guys, how much secret info do you think Bungie gave to 343i for the start of the new trilogy?

Weapon of Oppression

I'm sure former Bungie employee, Frankie, was given the fabled Halo bible, which is of course constantly uppdated and provides the insight required to keep the canon and plots.

"Where ere thou hast been, here or in yon world manifest? Canst thou tell what is, or what was, or what is to come? No thing shall last. Yet there are some things that will never change. History is written in blood, yet are battles really lost on the battlefield? Canst thou tell me where thou comest, and where thou goest, and what is, or what was, or what will be? For everything remains, AS IT NEVER WAS."

343i owns everything for Halo. Everything.

Twelve Large ²

An army of sheep led by a lion would defeat an army of lions led by a sheep.

Do not know. 343 can be my door opener anytime, as long as I don't get "stuck" wading through a world full of -blam!- surrounded by Flood.
