We are all truly, truly, truly HALO geeks...
I see the green too... and the olive...
Also, I can't believe that someone didn't mention that his armour actually has some battle scars on it, ending that idea where it started...
There are some nice chunks missing from the right side of his breastplate.
Yes we are, (there are physical damage but since i'm focusing on energy damage, it's not very compatible with my idea) Also, look at all the avatar of Halo 3 MC, would you say it's olive or green? or would you say it's tan and yellow? That would be your opinion.
Here's something easy to digest.
The green armor coating is to deflect energy, when it's damaged, it fades. (FOR)
The lightening of the armor is not caused by sand or light or desert reflection. To me it's obvious by just looking at the picture I provided but you're entitled to your opinion.
The consitancy of the damage on the armor (caused by energy blast) has to be something whole and enveloping, otherwise, plasma gun/ turrent would only cause areal damage, leaving green patches, which is certainly not the case here.
To conclude:
MC's armor is damaged by energy
The armor damage is conistant all over the armor
Thus, the energy is total and enveloping, meaning it's a big energy blast.
Right now there are many guess to what caused this, if you have any hypothesis. Add and remeber to read my original post first.
