Ply games, have fun...errr day :D

Hey everyone, I was wondering if it's possible to change the email account connected/associated to my bnet account. And if it is, then how long does it take for my bnet account to update? Thanks for any advice.

It isn't currently possible, you will have to make a new account.

danggit, that really sucks. Is there a way to deactivate the account on here manually, so i can make a new one with the same username?

As in the e-mail you use to log in? Yes. Yes you can.

Go to the windows live ID website. Log into your account. It'll take you to your profile page. The top option on the list that shows up is your e-mail. Change it to the new e-mail.

Poof. You now log in using the new e-mail. Note that this will also change it on other websites such as xbox.com, and your linked gamertag? Your linked gamertag will be under the new e-mail from now on as well, so all notices Microsoft sends you from then on will be sent to that e-mail, not your old one.

Actually, funny thing about that. I did change the email option a couple days ago, and tested the change on the xbox site. The thing is, it works on that site, but not on this one. When I try signing in on this site with the new email, it asks me to set up a new bnet account. And when I sign in with the old one, it signs into my bnet account.

I have no idea how to figure this out.

What website did you do it from? If you do it from another source, such as your Xbox, rather than from the actual WLID site, it will do exactly what you described my good man.

Wait, are you talking about the WLID signin page on bnet? I changed the preferred email after signing in through that.

I also changed my email&GT link through xbl a couple weeks ago, but idk if that's the problem.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

Oh brother...

When the same Windows Live ID is associated to both your Bungie.net profile and your Xbox LIVE gamertag, the two become linked. So, by changing the Windows Live ID associated to your gamertag to a different Windows Live ID, you unlinked your Bungie.net profile and Xbox LIVE gamertag. Since you are not able to change the Windows Live ID associated to your Bungie.net profile, there's only a few options you have.

Option 1: I want to link my Xbox LIVE gamertag to my Bungie.net profile, Dah Sarger.1. Recover your Xbox LIVE gamertag onto a Xbox 360 console.
2. Change the Windows Live ID associated to your Xbox LIVE gamertag to the same Windows Live ID you use to sign into your Bungie.net profile, Dah Sarger.
3. If the email address of your Windows Live ID (the one you use to sign into Dah Sarger) is not a Microsoft domain (msn.com, live.com, hotmail.com), you may change it to an existing email (that's not a Microsoft domain and not associated to another Windows Live ID) or to a new email (Microsoft domain), thus changing your logon credentials for Bungie.net, Xbox.com, and other Windows Live ID related services. Sign into http://account.live.com and you will see your email address with the option to change it.
4. Wait at least 8 hours after making the email address change before signing into Bungie.net, Xbox.com, or any other Windows Live ID sign on services. You should probably make the change right before you go to work or before you go to sleep so you don't have forum posting withdrawals.

Option 2: I want to link my Xbox LIVE gamertag to a new Bungie.net profile.1. Sign into Bungie.net with the same Windows Live ID associated to your Xbox LIVE gamertag.
2. Create a Bungie.net profile to be associated to your Windows Live ID and linked with your gamertag, if you haven't already.

Option 3: I want to link my Xbox LIVE gamertag to an existing Bungie.net profile that's not Dah Sarger.1. Sign into your Bungie.net profile and check if there's a gamertag linked to it already. If there's not, skip to step 5.
2. You have to unlink the current gamertag linked to your profile before you can link your gamertag to it. To do this, recover the gamertag onto a Xbox 360 console.
3. Create a Windows Live ID (if you don't have an existing one) to associate to the gamertag you're unlinking from your Bungie.net profile.
4. Change the Windows Live ID of the gamertag to the new Windows Live ID you just created. Now, your Bungie.net profile is available to link to any gamertag.
5. Recover your Xbox LIVE gamertag onto a Xbox 360 console.
6. Change the Windows Live ID of your gamertag to the Windows Live ID you use to sign into your Bungie.net profile.
7. Sign into Bungie.net and verify that you followed these steps correctly.
