Subject: Player turns to the right slowly.

Lately as I have been playing Reach it's been hard to turn the camera to the right. I can move the right joystick just fine but the game is not responding to it. My guy moves in slow motion and this is to the right only. It's fine If I move the camera to the left. Anyone know why?

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

It's actually your controller. Gonna need a new one.

At least your controller didn't stop you from moving right. STRAFING, WHY AM I NOT MOVING RIGHT

I had the same problem. Had to buy a new one :/.

The controller seems fine though. Dammit these things are not cheap.

That's not going to work for him. You need to desolder/resolder new analog sticks into the controller which you can get from Amazon or Ebay for 5 bucks a pair.

Learn how to do this and you'll save a lot of money on new controllers. It happens all too often to me.

And you're right, the controller is perfectly fine except for that broken analog. It's just going to get worse until you replace it.

I watched a video of how to replace them. It seems simple enough, thanks everyone.

You just need the tools and a very steady hand.

Agreed, learn how to make a good soldering connection, and youll be able to fix a majority of your electronics. You can buy a soldering iron & and some solder for around $15.

im sure his controller has slow turn mine had the same problem and i fixed by watching that video.

you dont need to replace the analog sticks.

Well he could try that first I guess, but he is just going to ruin his controller case.

His turning is still going to be uneven because the analog stick itself is faulty not the controller case.

to fix the problem OP hasall you have to do is sand off the analog stick with the problem or do the extra steps in the video.

the analog stick isnt broken.

How does sanding it down help?

  • 03.10.2012 5:57 PM PDT

Yes I do. If you over-compensate for turning right then the other directions are going to seem unreliable. It's not an acceptable fix in my view. That is all. It's a band-aid.

I'm suggesting to do things right. Not ruin his controller case in favour of quick fix. The analog stick has become faulty over time, not the controller case. So you replace the analog stick not carve the controller case. It just doesn't make sense at least to me.

What's unacceptable to me might be acceptable to someone else I guess.

I'll leave it up to the OP to decide.

im not sure, because im not an expert on the subject but i had the same exact problem as you did and i just did what the video told me to do and i fixed my slow turn controller.

dont waste your money on new sticks because you'll get the same problem again over a certain period of time.

for above poster im just speaking from experience although you may know more about this than i do.

Yes it is. The components in it have become warn down from friction. These things do not last forever.
