I was wondering if he could do this cus I guess that's how he teleported the Master Chief to High Charity and The Arbiter to the level Uprising. Is this a possible way of how he got to High Charity and captured Cortana or whatever he did with her??

thats possible

I might not understand the question, but he could use the same one as the blue one too. Just because they are on different galaxies does not mean they don't use the same system.

343 Guilty Spark transported Master Chief to The Library and the Truth and Reconciliation crash site in the first Halo. So if Gravemind has control of the Delta Halo Monitor, which I assume he does then perhaps he controls where he can be teleported.

at first i thought this would be a slighty retarded post.

but you bring up a potentially good point.
i never really thought about how GvMnd transported MC and then the arbiter. I always just figured GvMnd was kind of in control of a lots of things and he did it somehow lol.

everyone knows the difference between 343 and 2401 though ;)

Not to mention the Gravemind already teleported the Master Chief to High Charity (this is against the argument that the teleportation ring only works on the Halo, not anywhere else). It is very possible he would have done that, rather than risk riding in In Amber Clad, which could quickly be blown to smitherenes going headlong into a heavily fortified Covenant City.

He doesn't use Tangent to teleport objects. On the level Gravemind he kills the Flood-tainted Reget and Penitant Tangent once they say a few lines.

Yeah, the fact that the teleportation grid works off the ring is more interesting then the fact that it was used by Gravemind. (The Flood can control vehichles and were going to take over the Truth and Reconciliation. It wouldn't surprise me that Gravemind could use the teleportation grid if he could tap into the source. [2401 Penitent Tangent]). Also, Cortana transported Master Cheif to the wrecked Truth and Reconciliation, not 343 Guilty Spark.

Maybe the Halos can teleport within their blast radius? This might provide a clue as to the location of the Halos...

I doubt the teleportation grid runs that far out from the Halos, or Gravemind could have simply teleported himself closer to Earth/wherever the hell he wanted. I think it's more of a sphere around the Halo, with a diameter slightly larger than the Halo itself. This would account for Cortana being able to teleport the Master Chief into the Truth and Reconciliation (which was not part of Halo 04, and should not have ben part of a Halo-only teleportation grid), and for Gravemind teleporting the Master Chief onto High Charity (since it was fairly close to Delta Halo.

Maybe gravemind is part flood and AI or forerunner and tap into the teleportation grid like Guilty Spark 343 can.

since when does it say he kills reget (seeing how he is already dead) and 2401 ( as he is a machine)?

I have observed, that High Charity has a teleport grid. The Covenant may not be aware so, or they would've replicated the technology. That is why I believe the city of High Charity is a Forerunner City as a mobile battle station and haven from the Flood. If the Flood were to invade High Charity, then I suppose all would board the Forerunner Ship to evacuate. Cortana detects an AI presence aboard the Forerunner Ship, and this I believe to be a Forerunner AI who is the shipmaster. Any ordinary sentient being would eventually die, or wouldn't spend his whole life inside the ship, nor can a sentient pilot respond immediately in case of an outbreak. But an AI can do all these things, and Cortana was surprised how resilient it is while she tries to delay the launch(it is on a countdown?).

And Gravemind's teleportation ability. You might argue that he's half machine who's able to manipulate other machines(2401PT, Cortana), hence his metallic tentacles(Miranda must've mistakened it for a cable in the Library) interactions with AIs and subsystems as well as being able to hover and emit a mechanical pulse hum. If he can control other machines, then he could've used the teleport through 2401 just like half speaking through 2401 to get his point across to MC and Arbiter("Now I shall talk..."). But, if he can tap into the teleport grid directly, what's to say he can modify its circuitry or network to send MC and Arbiter away?

I wouldn't go so far as to say that, there's a big difference between where high charity was (about a couple thousand kilometers from Delta) and one seventh of our galaxy.

Hey guys, I just noticed that if you divide 2401, by 343, you get the number 7.

Does anyone think this has any signifigance, since Bungie is obsessed with the number 7?.

Edit-

And also, the numbers: 343, and 2401 are both divisible by 7.

343 is for installation, 04?, and 2401 is for 05?, then i'm thinking all of the rest are going to be divisible by 7 also.

This is old, anyway the Forerunner ship probably also has a Monitor after all IIRC 343 said that the Forerunner facility had it's own Monitor though it had passed away.

relating to this, aren't the two just removed from view?
as for myu opinion on the thread, how could gravemind use 2401pt to access the teleport grid if 2401pt isnt alive. it's a robot. gravemind probably tampered with the electricals to teleport, just like cortana in the control room in halo 1
