Subject: why dont bungie team up with 343

"The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit,
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it."
-Omar Khayyám-

Halo was fun and all and I got to meet you all on the battlefield fighting for the flag, but its time for some new scenery, a new battlefield and frontier to wage countless bloody campaigns.

343 has Shishka and Frankie so I am not too worried for the franchise, pretty much BUNGiE lite over there.

Halo 3 (31st), ODST (14th) and Reach (4th) Mythic Conqueror. (Mythic is Solo, Legendary, All skulls on + scoring on and no deaths/saves).

To tell the truth it doesn't matter how good Halo 4 is. 343 could do a killer job on it...no matter what happens all the so called "Halo fanboys" will cry about it what's wrong with it. They are never happy.

Like all Halo games before it, depending upon who you ask, Halo 4 will either be the worst, or best, Halo game ever created.

Alot of Bungie workers are on 343... the ones that actually care enough about halo to continue to work on it. Which is great news.

Define 'alot' - last I heard, less than 5 ex-Bungie people worked at 343i. Frank O'Connor, Jaime Greisemer and Chad Armstrong (Shihska) are the only ones that come to mind.

Out of a company of 100+ people, that's hardly an overwhelming influence.

This is what I get for posting at the bottom of a page. Anyways, yes, only five left for 343i. Three at the most remain.

I don't remember if Jamie actually left for 343i. I know that Frankie, Vic, and Shishka remain. Nate and Seth are no longer with 343i.

I'm pretty sure he went to Sucker Punch, the guys responsible for the "Infamous" games. He was a guest on an episode of the 343 Sparkast to give some behind-the-scenes info on the original Combat Evolved. Maybe that caused some people to think he works for 343 now.

Hello, I'm Mr AwesomePizza. I like pizza and I'm a man. Reasoning for the name. I like to listen to the classics of music, write poetry, play video games, and much much more. I'm always down for a nice chat, so please hit me up for some conversation.

Bungie said that they're done with it. I'm pretty sure that means they don't wanna do it anymore.

Ad Infinitum

I just wish Bungie would give us a tiny hint on what they're working on. I wake up in a cold sweat every night because I can't stand the suspense.

Because it's time to pass the torch. Bungie has bigger and better things to do and Microsoft is trying to milk Halo for everything they can. I'll give the game a chance though.

Did it occur to you that Bungie doesn't want to make Halo games anymore?
I dunno. If I had a pony that only knew how to play guitar I would be OK with that.

I guess some solid Halo fanboys/girls are afraid 343 will destroy the canon.

343 is really into the canon side of things, if anything they'll improve it.

I think they said something about making it so the games tell the story well, no longer needing to get the books? Don't quote me on that.

We've fortunately been able to retain an unusual number of employees, from core staff that created Halo way back when, to the army of talent it took to ship Reach. Very, very, very few people have left to "continue to work" on Halo. (You shouldn't assume that implies they won't make a great game, however.)

Normally, I wouldn't care to address staff issues like this, but this little rumor has proven remarkably pernicious.

Very, very, VERY?! *sigh of relief*

I see no need to worry. I'm excited at the thought of continuing Chief's story, regardless of developer.

Why doesnt bungie make Halo 4? 343 is old bungie.
yeah most of 343 came from bungie..

Because less than 5 people at 343 came from Bungie, per Achronos.

The distance between insanity and genius is measured only by success.

The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of confidence.

As you waste your breath complaining about life, Someone out there is breathing their last. Appreciate what you have.

If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything.

From what i'm hearing, most of the people that left Bungie to join 343 have since left.

Out of the former Bungie employees that left for 343, only 2 remain working there.

And that info is about 2 months old or better.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Because, after 10 years, Bungie is tired of making Halo. They want to move on and make new projects.

Perhaps one day, when their contract with Activision ends, Bungie may return to Halo to make a single game.

No! After Halo 2 and Halo 3 Bungie did the right thing by leaving Halo. Lets let the team of diverse talented professionals at 343i have a shot and pray that they can save this franchise.

Good luck with that...

And Halo doesn't need saving. The five games we have are just fine as they are, and Halo 4 will be just fine. We'll all play Halo 4 because it's Halo, but I won't be very surprised if Halo 4 does worse than any other Halo.

There has never been a major franchise that has gone through a complete change of developer and done as well as with the previous developer. The franchise's always seem to bomb into a steaming pile with the new developers.

Here's hoping to a break in the trend, but I'm doubtful.

;)

Yeah, and as Jason Jones is still working at Bungie i'm fine.

Because Bungie needs more time for world domination and for creating the next big hit. I think Bungies next game should be called Haho. Military pun, Halo is High Altitude Low Open and Haho is High Altitude High Open.

Why do morons everywhere keep insisting that 343i is Bungie 2.0 composed of the talent that made Halo: CE. There has been a consistent rate of actual Bungie employees stating again and again that the core Halo team (Grizzled Ancients) is still at Bungie. There's no denying that a chunk of the orignal Halo team went missing. Those people went their seperate ways years ago before Halo 3 even came out and a few like Bertone and Griesmer left more recently.

Any Bungie remaining employees at 343i are folks who were part of Bungie but were not single-handedly instrumental to the development of the Halo franchise. There are people out there who actually suggest that Frankie was one of the creators of Halo. That couldn't be further away from the truth and it shows that the ignortant who post that crap are new to the series. Any Halo fan that has been with Bungie since the beginning is here on these forums and knows that Bungie is Bungie; with a slew of new talent.
