Similarities I think we should all look at:
Here I am at work (graveyard shift) and I'm bored from telling people repeatedly that:
This thread doesn't belong here; this thread should be locked; this has already been posted before.
And it's on that last note that I went trudging through the Halo 2 forum. No typo there... Halo 2.
Lets take a trip back to memory lane where we see ourselves as we were pre-Halo 2.
<insert cool time travel noises>
Nothing ever changes. And with the coming of a new game, requests and suggestions are made. Though many are never original, and posted many times, the "These are the weapons I want to see" thread is most definantly a popular contestant.
I want this weapon "plx"
Of course, this was after certain weapons were released, and so the player base KNEW the sword was a playable weapon. So why even make the post? I have yet been able to figure out such a question.

Suggestions were happily made in a simple and relatively respectful manner. Such as this post:
Ragdoll vs. Death animation
This is an example of a thread that is respectful and has purpose. A poll asking the community what they would like to see. However, the irony is that while some of the threads on the bnet might be read by someone in bungie, the flood of new topics, useless topics, and repeat topics, leave the boards a mess. So suggestive threads like this get lost. "I dont have to say anything do I?" My thoughts exactly.
---
Of course, with every polite suggestion/request thread, you had these threads:
PLAYABLE DEMO BEFORE RELEASE?????
Wich naturally translates to "gimme now plx." People were quick to answer the impatient user by coining him with the appropriate nickname: newb.
---
Players spread rumors maniacally. This particular thread was done in all caps, but (and I guess we should be thankful for small miracles) he actually managed to use punctuation. Punctuation that was used correctly no less:
HALO 2 IS ALREADY OUT! it's MAY 30th!
In fact, this wasn't the first post on the issue as the third person down mentions.

Speaking of repeat posts. New posters as well as some rediculous veterans have a bad habit of thinking they are the first to post something. And while this may seem like not such a bad thing, it leads to harrassment, and general problems of similar nature. First lets look at this page of the Halo 2 archives:
Repeat posts. Hey look 2 of 'em!
The two most obvious repeat posts are the ones that ended up on top of each other. "Halo 2: 4 Player Co-op" and "Cooperative play". Both ask about 4 player co-op (something carried on to today I might add. But even still, the rumor mill turns, and the number has increased to 8 player ONLINE co-op. I wish I was told such interesting stories.) The second repeat post talks about the Grunt lines. One is a suggestion thread of what the community thinks the next phrase should be said by grunts next, and the other was what they thought was the funniest already out. The uselessness of such posts should be obvious, but not to some.

Speculation...
Swords in Multiplayer ONLY?!
After speculation...
Will the warthog... and puma... be in Halo 2?
(frankly, this is funny just on principle)
After SPECULATION!!
Centinals could be back, but are they going to be better?
That's all for now... We'll return later down memory lane at a later time...
